Christmas memories are definitely ones to cherish. Now that my daughters are teenagers, I like to reflect on Christmas memories past that bring a smile to my face. Like the one of my youngest pictured below. Each year, we visit the Bartow-Pell Mansion during the holidays and this was one of her first visits there. Visiting the mansion during the holidays is so special as it brings memories of yesteryear, history and nostalgia. I was so happy to capture this photo of her enjoying the lights of the tree.
Now that my girls are older, I am happy to get the house ready with Christmas spirit. Decorating the tree early helps us have time to make new memories with them.
One of my favorite new traditions is having my daughters enjoy Hallmark Channel Christmas movies with me. We grab a cup of tea, a warm cozy blanket and snuggle up on the couch enjoy the Countdown to Christmas together. I love a movie that goes back in time and of course, a love story!
This year I am super excited to see “A Biltmore Christmas”. A few years ago, my mom and aunt visited the Biltmore estate and there visit sounded so magical that heading down south to visit the Biltmore has been on my list.
So for now, I will enjoy this new Hallmark Channel Original with my daughters and hope that you enjoy it too.
Check out the movie synopsis:
Lucy Hardgrove (Joy Lenz) is a screenwriter who lands the job of a lifetime when she’s hired to pen the script for a remake of the beloved holiday movie, His Merry Wife! First filmed in 1947 at beautiful, historic Biltmore House, it has long been considered a Christmas classic. When the head of the studio isn’t satisfied with the ending Lucy wrote because it deviates from the original’s feel-good conclusion, he sends Lucy to Biltmore Estate for research and inspiration. While there, she unwittingly discovers the ability to travel to the 1947 set of His Merry Wife! through the help of an hourglass. After shaking off the initial shock of this turn of events, Lucy embraces this as her chance to uncover the truth about the movie’s original ending. While on set, she and Jack Huston (Kristoffer Polaha), one of the film’s stars, spend time together and become close. But her sudden appearance has set off a chain of events that put the production in jeopardy. Before she can return to the present, Lucy must make things right or threaten to alter the future forever.
