Tips for a Visit to Mountain Creek Waterpark

Summer is not over yet! My family and I were invited for a day of play at Mountain Creek Waterpark Resort in Vernon, NJ.

Did you that Mountain Creek has activities that can take you through all of the seasons?  It is 47 miles from the George Washington Bridge which makes it pretty convenient to head over for some outdoor fun!

Mountain Creek Waterpark has so Much to Offer

What I like most about our visit to Mountain Creek Waterpark is the laughs and smiles from all ages.  Look at them laughing after going down the slide together in a two-person tube. The Vertigo and Vortex slides were two of our favorites.

Enjoy a Comfortable Cabana

I always love when places have fun props to take a photo with.  To enjoy the day and keep our things all together, we enjoyed our time in a cabana.  A great idea when you have a big group and need a home base.  There are also lockers right next to the cabanas too in case you would like to lock up any valuables. We also had a wonderful waiter come to our cabana so that we could place an order.  With waterpark lines for food being what they are, we were very happy to order.

While at the Wave Pool, my daughter headed over to the skis.  As you can see, she is contemplating the next time she will be skiing down the mountain.  Lol!

Wave Pools and Slides

The High Tide Wave Pool is definitely an intense one.  Be prepared for younger ones to wear life vests and stronger swimmers to enjoy riding the wave.

Although not allowed on some rides, water shoes or some type of footwear is necessary for walking around on the terrain.  There is a lot of area to cover to enjoy all the water fun so you definitely need some type of shoe to make it around the park.  For rides that you are not able to keep your water shoes on, they have an area that you can leave them.

Bombs Away is the perfect name for the slide.  A far climb up the mountain but well worth the ride down.  She went on three times before venturing to another part of the park.

Mountain Creek Waterpark is built into nature.  Some of the pathways are rock and definitely be on the lookout to see where you are stepping.

We did our best to enjoy as much as we could before a thunderstorm rolled in.  Although it is close, after a day at the park, it was great to stay at The Appalachian at Mountain Creek. We enjoyed our evening in the spacious suite and with the storm brewing, we even turned on the fireplace to give the feel of cooler times ahead.  We could see how this room would be a great size for a family coming with ski and snow gear too.

So Much to Do at Mountain Creek Resort

In addition to the waterpark, there are so many other outdoor activities to enjoy! Mountain Creek Resort is home to a variety of outdoor recreation activities including Mountain Creek Bike Park, Mountain Creek Waterpark, Great Gorge Golf, the TreEscape Aerial Adventure Ropes Courses and Mountain Creek Zip Tours. Just 47 miles from the George Washington Bridge, Mountain Creek Resort is easily accessible for New York, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania residents looking for a world-class resort experience.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
