As a mama of two budding dancers, (and a dancer herself) there is nothing quite like opportunity to spend time sharing our love and passion for dance. We have long admired the strength, grace and pure talent of the great Misty Copeland so when Disney released the Nutcracker and the Four Realms we were ecstatic beyond words. To see Misty on the big screen, incorporated to one of our favorite ballets was like our (Nutcracker) dream come true.
To celebrate this spectacular movie’s release onto Blu-Ray and DVD my girls were invited to take a class at The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in our home city of New York. They experienced a full dance class, taught by a professional dancer and performed a beautifully choreographed piece to a song chosen off the beloved Disney’s Nutcracker and the Four Realms soundtrack.
To have to the chance to watch my little girls learn from an accomplished dancer, listen to her inspiring and encouraging words and get to watch them perform together was a delight I won’t soon forget.
The anticipation of watching the DVD in the comfort of our own living room was almost too much to bear. The girls dressed in their most favorite ballet attire, moved the coffee table and prepared themselves to dance along to the magic of this special movie.
We are excited to share this spectacular movie with you! Two lucky readers will win a copy of Disney’s Nutcracker and the Four Realms for themselves of enjoy. Enter below.

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy and featuring a special performance by Misty Copeland, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.
