The Idea for “Wreck-it Ralph 2”

- Yesss is an algorithm
- She shifts looks of hair and clothes based on what is trending
- Jacket is made up of 1000s of fiber optics
- She is one of the COOLEST Disney characters
Imagining the World of Internet
Animators explored the grandeur of the Internet. How do you do this? By exploring cat videos, of course! These videos brought humor to the research. What does it look like? How will it sound?
For Zootopia, animators went on an African adventure. For Moana, they visited the South Pacific. The team on Frozen visited Norway.
For Ralph Breaks the Internet, they traveled a long 9 miles to One Wilshire Boulevard in downtown LA. It houses all internet connections where Internet Wires and servers that connect the world. The building is wires and boxes that inspired what the internet might look like.
This inspired Internet would be a major metropolis with different districts.
Who are the Characters of the Internet in Ralph Breaks the Internet?
- Net users are Internet versions of you and me. They are the avatars.
- Netizens – full-time citizens of Internet They work at various websites and offer guidance as you search
The Story
As the new movie begins, Ralph is back to wrecking things and Vanellope is racing cars.
Mr. Litwak has had WiFi is plugged as times have changed. Then a kid breaks the steering wheel of Vanellope’s game. The kids who love game try to help but the part is too expensive. Mr. Litwak is going to unplug Sugar Rush and Vanellope can’t believe she isn’t going to have a game.
Vanellope shares how she loves the feeling of not knowing what is coming next as she misses her game and feels like she needs to be alone.
Ralph has an idea to get the steering wheel and figures out how he is going to sneak into Internet and head to eBay.
This is the most beautiful miracle I have ever seen! – Vanellope, as she enters the Internet
Ralph and Vanellope head to the Search Bar to find out how to go to eBay find the SugarRush steering wheel.
To add excitement to the movie, they enlisted Brian Curless – reigning US champion auctioneer to voice the eBay auctioneer in the movie. Unfortunately, Ralph and Vanellope find out a little too late about money and cannot purchase steering wheel. And so, the problems begin.
How are they going to come up with the money? This is where we meet Yesss.
Yess explains they can make viral videos and make money. While Ralph learns more about the Internet, he also comes upon the not-so-nice parts of the Internet in a sad moment in the movie. This is when Yesss shares the First rule of Internet- “Do not read the comments.”
Vanellope visits one of the biggest fan sites, Ohmydisney.com. She uses her glitch to enter a forbidden site and here is where she encounters all the princesses in this highly anticipated scene. During the scene, Vanellope turns them into regular girls in their new tees and lounge clothes. (Totally in love with the Merida-Pixar joke too) All original voices of the princesses participated in voicing this scene.
Listening to Phil Johnston, Rich Moore and Clark Spencer made me realize the story of Ralph Breaks the Internet is about friendship and how friendships can change. The Internet puts Ralph and Vanellope’s friendship to the test. This movie is about holding on to friendships and battling insecurity and complicated ideas What do we do when friends have different dreams?
