Must Have Finds For Back To School #MomtrendsSchool

School days are back again. Before you know it Labor Day will be here, summer will be over and school will be back in session.  Your children might not be happy to start classes but they will certainly be ecstatic to see their friends and reminisce about summer break from vacations and trips to the pool. That is exactly how I felt when getting to see some of my great friends for a great night out.

Get your checklist ready for back to school must-haves.  When it comes to being prepared for the school year Momtrends know how to calm those nerves and provide you with the most current list needed for you and your children to have a successful start to the year.

We all know that list of supplies can be long, from crayons, folders, pencils and so much more. No need to worry about items ending up in the lost and found never to return again.  Every item being sent to school can be labeled with Mabel’s Labels so that they get returned to the rightful owner.  It is a great idea to add to clothing as well. When seasons change there are always sweatshirts and umbrellas that don’t make their way home.  Don’t forget lunch boxes too.  Mabel’s Labels are laundry safe, waterproof, personalized labels used to identify clothing toys, shoes, and so much more.

Use coupon code MOMTRENDS10 to save an extra 10% off their label purchase at www.mabelslabels.com

Now that their lunch box is labeled it is time to think of what to pack for snacks and of course lunch.

Stonyfield Organic snacks are an important part of your child’s day.  With several options, you can mix it up every day. One of my favorites is  Kids Low Fat Smoothies Very Berry flavor.

Just sweet enough Stonyfield is working toward less sugar as a company! Kids Smoothies have 25% less sugar than the leading kids’ yogurt, with 2.9g of sugar per ounce compared to 4g per ounce in the leading kids’ yogurt.

At Stonyfield, their products were organic even before it was cool. They knew organic mattered because it meant their products were made without the use of toxic persistent pesticides or GMO’s. EVER. That means it’s not only good for you but good for the planet too. And because it’s Stonyfield, you know it’s delicious.

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love a great grilled cheese sandwich. With the help of Jarlsberg  Chef George Duran was on hand curating delicious grilled cheese sandwiches that you can easily make at home. This isn’t your momma’s grilled cheese.  Check out the recipes on their website to get inspired for lunch and dinner options. To have a successful school year the key is to be prepared. have lunch made the night before.

Jarlsberg has 4 types of cheeses that would make for a wonderful platter and even afternoon snack. Don’t forget with school comes many playdates for moms and kids. Choose from Original, Lite, Special Reserve and Smoked. Many of these can be found at your local grocery store.

We all know that kids like sharing everything this can include lunch and pencils, however, the most dreaded 4 letter word does not want to be shared at all LICE.  This can be a parent’s worst nightmare getting the call home that their child has lice or even a classmate has it.  With the help of Vamousse for preventative care and for treatment, you can kill these pesky nits.  The best part is you can do this all in the comfort of your own home. Thier is no prescription needed and you pick this up and your local drug store.  Before school starts, I spray the lice repellant on my girl’s hair. I feel rest assured that they will not be bringing home any uninvited guests for the school year.

Gaining control over head lice doesn’t have to mean a prescription solution or pesticides. Vamousse offers a full range of safe, effective pesticide-free lice solutions for infestation and daily use during and even before lice outbreaks. Mom can treat child quickly at home and eliminate the ongoing worry after exposure to lice for the entire family.

The lovely team from Vamousse was on hand making everyone feel comfortable about this touchy subject. Guess what it happens to the best of us, but now there is the treatment you can take care of easily with their line of products.  While at the event they were styling hair and treating us all to great new looks.  I love my new braids and love a hairstyle that is contained to a great way to start the school year for kids too. Who doesn’t love a great braid!

Parents get ready for those school projects! With the help of Epson, you can print all projects and reports at home.  This cartridge-free printer perfect is for students and families, the Expression ET-2750 EcoTank can print for up to two years without having to replace the ink. No more late night trips to get ink, think of all the money you will be saving especially if you have several children.  The Savvy Ladies would love to have this addition at home and this would also be any teachers best friend.

From homework, Tupperware labels, cute notes to slip inside your kids’ lunchboxes, photos, and more, we will be showcasing how your readers can start and end their days with EcoTank, without having to worry about running out of ink at the worst times

Now that all your papers are printed out you can keep everything organized with the help of Avery products. Avery has partnered with Amy Tangerine for a bright colorful and cheerful collection of designer products available on Amazon. From file folders, binders, divider tabs and more.   Paperwork will be organized and looking stylish in no time.  Save 15% using code 15AVERYNAMY when purchasing through Amazon.

Every Momtrends Back to School event isn’t complete without a fashion show. These great looks are provided by  Tea Collection and SnapperRock. Hair is styled by Vamousse. The girl’s nails were painted by Maniorpedi. Hasbro supplied the great keychains to add on book packs and all bags are labeled with Mabel’s Labels.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
