3 Family Friendly Resorts To Sweeten Your Visit In Hershey PA

Looking for a weekend getaway with your family?  If you live in the NYC area, you are just a little over a 3-hour ride to the Sweetest Place on Earth.  That’s right, Hershey Pa!  This town has so much to offer for all ages!  After going directly to Hersheypark to enjoy all the rides and attractions, you will need a place to stay for one night or several nights. Hersheypark Entertainment and Resorts has 3 resorts that will make you feel right at home.   I suggest at least 2 nights for your getaway.  With a minimum of two nights, you can pace yourself and enjoy all the amenities of the resort of your choice.

I was  invited for Sweet Welcome 2018 for a stay at the Hershey Lodge .  While there for the weekend, we were able to visit all the resorts. Take a look at what each offers. It might be hard to decide where to stay but I’m sure you will love them all.

If camping is more your style, you can choose the Hershey Park Camping Resort, either by renting a cabin or hooking up your RV.  You can even pitch a tent if you want to rough it.  I enjoyed checking out the deluxe cabin with running water and electricity.  It is my idea of glamping.  One great thing about the deluxe cabin is that it sleeps 7. This is great for larger families or 2 families combined.   You can even make it a girls weekend!

With transportation to the parks, you don’t have to worry about moving your vehicle the whole time you are on vacation.  The campgrounds have 2 pools and one “kiddie” pool.  There is even a small convenience store located right in the center where you can get some groceries and even stock up on souvenirs.

Hershey Park Camping Resort Features

  • Indoor game room
  • Multiple playgrounds
  • Basketball, volleyball courts, and shuffleboard courts†
  • Horseshoe Pits
  • Movie nights, live entertainment…and so much more!
  • Pool and recreation activities are available Memorial Day thru Labor Day. In addition, Halloween activities will take place the three weekends that Hersheypark In The DarkSM is scheduled.

Here is just a brief glimpse of what the inside of the deluxe cabin looks like.  You do have to bring all of your own linens, but cooking utensils are provided.

Staying at the  Hershey Lodge  allows you to enjoy the indoor waterpark Water Works.  Water Works even has an outdoor splash area for little ones.  Even the adults will have fun splashing around before or after the parks.

The Hershey Lodge is a beautiful resort that has so many amenities for families and those looking for a large convention facility. The holidays can be one of the best times to visit too!

Look at all the detail that goes into each room!  I wish the wallpaper was scratch and sniff.  I can’t believe it, Hershey Kisses, subtle enough to almost not see it, yet you can’t help but smile when you notice it.  Hershey kisses are even covering your bedding and at night your turndown service will provide you with a few kisses.  That is certainly one thing I missed after my trip!

Don’t worry about bringing any toiletries with you other than your toothbrush, The Hershey Lodge has you covered. You will be smelling so fresh with a hint of chocolate.

After a day at the park or before your arrival you and your family will have to check out Water Works!

Directly off to the side of Water Works is an arcade room to keep everyone entertained.

If you don’t want to miss your daily workout the gym, you have access to their rec room.

The Hotel Hershey was Milton Hershey’s dream destination for a summer resort with guests being able to enjoy the grounds and step into a palace.

With 276 guest rooms and 48 cottages, you feel whisked away to another moment in time.

Once you step inside, it is as if you have stepped back in time to another era.  Each detail was chosen by Mr. Hershey to be exactly like the countries that he had visited while traveling around the world.   The Hotel Hershey has a more luxurious vibe but certainly is family friendly.  This historic hotel also showcases Mrs. Hershey’s rose bushes in the garden. While standing out front of the hotel you can see  Hersheypark’s roller coasters and dream of what it was like for Milton Hershey  to look out on his chocolate factory.

When surveyors began mapping the site, Mr. Hershey gave his architect and chief engineer, D. Paul Witmer, a postcard showing the front view of a 30-room hotel that he had visited in the Mediterranean. It had a U-shaped base with a tower at either end. Witmer used the design to guide his creation of the 170-room hotel, which included a Spanish patio, tiled floors, a grand fountain, and a dining room without corners.

Walking the halls of the hotel takes you back in time with images of events that took place on the Hotel Hershey grounds from many years ago.

Many of the pieces of furniture in the lobby are original to the Hershey Hotel with only updates to the upholstery in keeping with the true fashion of Mr. Hershey.

This is just one of the rooms that you can stay in while at the Hershey Hotel.  Perfect for a couples getaway!

The Circular room was one of my favorite places to eat.  The windows give you a great view of the property and you can see the pools of water and several of the cottages that are on site.  Each seat has the perfect view and there are no obstructions.

No matter where you choose to stay on property at the Hershey Resorts you can enjoy all these benefits.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

To enter:

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
