The other day, my daughter said, Mom, you need to write about something important. Something different. At first, I was somewhat upset. But then, she explained what she meant. She said, write about something that would make a difference. You see, she has been learning about environmental science and has been making an effort to do things like try and use less plastic. I told her that in January, we could try to document a week without plastic. More on that story to come.
So when I received the email about Cool Effect, it was like a calling. You see, I always knew my daughter was amazing and then when I looked at her wish list for gifts this year, she had donations to organizations that make a change on there. Not a gift for her but a gift for her other mother, Mother Earth.
I was touched and I know my mother will be too as she reads this post. So how does my daughter’s wish list and Cool Effect match?
See for yourself when you head to the Cool Effect website.
Cool Effect works to fund carbon reducing projects. Our friend the snowman knows a lot about climate change. Take a look at his video below
Carbon Cutting gifts are the perfect present for those who are environmentally conscious.
I try my best to learn more each day about making better choices. This past summer, my daughter told me about how to offset our carbon footprint when when we fly. Did you know that every time you travel, you put CO2 into the atmosphere? This warms the planet and poses a risk to us all. As I read more, it started to make sense. Before I decided to donate, I did my research. Take a look here
One of the gifts I love the most is the The Snowman Gift Pack. You can give small like a snowball amount or you can give big like a snowstorm. Here is how how you can keep the snowman in a winter wonderland.
Cool Effect has projects across the globe that verifiably reduce carbon pollution to fight climate change, and this gift package allows you to support every single one of them. But it doesn’t stop there. Whether it’s preventing Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), or Nitrous Oxide (N2O), these projects fight earth-warming emissions of all kinds to help our frosty friends and keep winter a wonderland.
Choose a project.
Reduce carbon pollution.
Help cool the planet.
I am proud of my daughter and her choices to be more eco-conscious. So I will be giving her The Snowman Bundle. I will receive an origami gift with my purchase of any holiday gift bundle. This is a fun way to create a tangible giving experience. Keep Mother Earth looking beautiful for all.
Whether you are ready to buy a meaningful gift or you would like to read up on all of Cool Effect’s passion projects/holiday bundles, head to the Cool Effect website.
You can choose one (or multiple) to gift to your loved ones te a gift that truly matters. Over 90% of each contribution goes directly to the projects. I was happy to hear that!
Looks like a great site with good things to do. I’ll be looking for your no plastics week.
I wish one of the most used would be eliminated and that i water in plastic bottles. It drives me batty. We have friends who only drink water out of bottles.. and cater to it although I do recycle. I am a huge composter and utilize and reuse or repurpose as much as possible.
I am glad your daughter is doing this early as it i a lifestyle no a fad. #gift
This is sweet.

This is such a great thing. I’m going to pass this on to my Granddaughter. She loves doing projects like this and getting her school involved.
This is really inspiring! Sometime we forget how important it is to take this journey with our kids in a sustainable earth friendly manner. Thanks for sharing, we try to do what we can to reduce our carbon footprint and consumption of plastics but I know we could do more.

Kids now are a lot more aware of the problems happening then I know I ever was, We reused, and recycled out of necessity but so much now it is a ‘throw away ‘ world. There arent cobblers, or repairmen for things anymore. #AG
This is a good site to look into. I was just thinking about a week without plastic, and the hardest thing is to realize what exactly are things with plastic, some are obvious, but I wonder how many aren’t. #giftsforher
Love this!! I love helping the Earth!
I really try to get my family to create as little waste as possible.
