Summer has been filled with so many fun activities this year. We have been lucky enough to travel to Florida and North Carolina to visit family and friends. Although we are back home in NYC now, this picture was my view from the pool just a few short weeks ago. Enjoying the hot Florida sun is wonderful but we try our best to practice good sun safety at all times.
We have spent so much time outdoors and used a ton of sunscreen. It doesn’t matter if it is hot and sunny day or an overcast day, always apply sunscreen. Some days it is easy to get them to apply because we are going to the pool or at the beach. I find it hardest when we go to the park. I try to impress upon them that as long as you are outdoors, always apply sunscreen.
We gathered some of the activities we planned for the summer to share with you all the times we used La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids. Take a look:
When purchasing sun care products for my girls, I check to make sure that the ingredients and antioxidants are highly protective, but also safe, gentle and effective on children’s sensitive skin. Did you know that according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, just 5 sunburns before the age of 20 can increase the risk of melanoma by a startling +80%? I find that extremely alarming and want to do my best to help the practice good habits when in the sun.
When using La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids, I like how easily it goes on. It is easy to rub in and it is also water resistant. I am glad that is pediatrician and dermatologist test, fragrance free and paraben-free. My girls like that it blends in and does not make them look all white. We swim almost every day and sometimes it is hard to remember how much time has past.
What is the My UV Patch?
To help, La Roche-Posay offers the My UV Patch (app download required). It is a connected health technology that allows kids and adults to measure their UV exposure and risk in real time.
La Roche-Posay encourages parents and caregivers to heighten sun behavior awareness within their families by using the La Roche-Posay My UV Patch and mobile app (available both on iOS and Android). My UV Patch is the first-ever stretchable skin sensor designed to monitor UV radiation in real-time to help educate users on their daily sun exposure to encourage true behavioral change.
The UV Patch is is super kid friendly and very easy to use. It keeps track of when you need to scan and alerts you when it is time. The app also lets you know the forecast of your area. My youngest makes it very challenging to reapply. She thinks once is enough. By using the app and the patch, it made it easier for her to understand why she needed to reapply. I think this is a great idea to help us monitor our health.
La Roche-Posay offers products for the entire family. This is definitely a brand that I will be purchasing in the future. Although summer is coming to an end, we will still be outdoors. La Roche-Posay Anthelios Dermo-Kids will be in my bag for the upcoming soccer season on the field.
Another great product that La Roche-Posay offers is the Cicaplast Baume B5. It is a soothing repairing balm that is perfect to soothe dry areas and it also easy to take on the go. It is a great size for travel too.
Hope you are having fun in the sun. Make sure you #Playsafeinthesun this summer!
