Looking at the trailer for this movie, I can relate.  I could be the mom that goes overboard.  I try my best to get my girls ready for the future by saving for college. I work fulltime. I blog. I drive them from sports to dance to flute lessons.  I am present. I am there.  I am tired. I am a little bit crazy!

This truly appeals to my little bit crazy side and cannot wait to laugh along with this movie.

After Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) lose their daughter Alex’s college fund, they become desperate to earn it back so she can pursue her dream of attending a university.  With the help of their neighbor Frank (Jason Mantzoukas), they decide to start an illegal casino in his house.

 

The comedy “The House” also stars Nick Kroll (“Vacation,” TV’s “Kroll Show”), Allison Tolman (TV’s “Fargo”), Michaela Watkins (TV’s “Transparent”), Ryan Simpkins (“Arcadia”), Jessie Ennis (TV’s “Veep” and “Better Call Saul”), Rob Huebel (“Horrible Bosses 2,” TV’s “Transparent”), Cedric Yarbrough (TV’s “Reno 911!”) and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (“The Town,” “The Hurt Locker,” “Arrival”).

We live in the same crazy world of full time jobs, saving for everything for kids, running from activity to activity being so careful not to miss any, and always feel several steps behind the 8 ball even though we may actually be ahead of it. Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler are both funny characters and pairing them up for a movie like this seems like it would make for great entertainment.
