A few weeks ago, I shared with you my experience learning about Moana while out in LA for the Pete’s Dragon Event.
While at the People En Espanol Festival at the Jacob Javitz Center, I was able to get a glimpse of more footage and learn more from Venezuelan Disney Animator Jorge Ruiz. In an instant, you could tell that Jorge Ruiz truly loves his job and accomplishments as a Disney animator. He shared his journey with the company and his work as an animator on Moana.
After our time with Jorge Ruiz, it was time to see the interview with Lin-Manuel Miranda. Tony, Pulitzer, Emmy and Grammy winner Lin–Manuel Miranda is an abosolute delight to listen to. You feel his passion in his words and actions.
I was so impressed with Lin-Manuel’s positivity. Did you know that the day he found out he and his wife were expecting, he also found out that Disney wanted him to work on Moana?
He also shared great word of inspiration for living:
-
Karma is real… Be nice to everyone.
-
Treat everyone like they are the one to give you the job.
-
If you love it, you’ll find room for it.
Lin-Manuel also spoke of his Broadway shows In the Heights and Hamilton. He is a virtuoso and shares many ideals for the common good. I also cannot wait to learn more about his role in the Mary Poppins remake He will star with Emily Blunt in Disney’s new Mary Poppins. Mary Poppins Returns takes place 20 years later and I am eager to see it!
With less than two months to go before Moana hits theaters, here are some fun free Moana Games that you can play.
