Before seeing this opportunity to review I’m Judging You on Clever, I must admit I was behind the times and had not heard of Luvvie Ajayi. I was intrigued by the title and thought that a book called I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual would be an interesting read. I’m so glad I did.
I started reading the book on the train into the city and felt like I was laughing to myself the whole ride.
In a time where there seems to be so much hostility, Luvvie tells it like it is and brings humor to life when we need it the most.
In Chapter 2, Why Must You Suck at Friendship?, Luvvie sets forth to describe the friends that can sometimes suck the life out of you. The friend who competes with me is real and I know we have all been there. And, maybe sometimes, we have been this friend too.
Another chapter that I enjoyed was Weight a Minute. Luvvie states “We suck so bad for shaming people’s weight, whether heavy or thin.” I thought, Wow! She is right. Doesn’t matter where you are on the weight spectrum, people shame you for being “too” this or “too” that.
Athe the end of the book, Luvvie leaves us with a call to action, Do Something that Matters. If you have influence, use it for the common good. It doesn’t have t be a monetary donation. There are so many other ways that we can get involved and make the world a better place. It’s kind of like a Just Do it kind of moment and it gave me that together we can make a difference feeling.
So my call to action for you is to READ the BOOK – I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual You will laugh, maybe out loud and feel the need to say something or DO Something in the end. Thank Luvvie!
