With the release of The Jungle Book on Blu-Ray/DVD a few days ago, we have been watching and singing along to some of our favorite songs.
Baloo’s song “The Bare Necessities” makes me think of what is really important to me. Listen and sing along with Baloo and Mowgli.
Look for the bare necessities
The simple bare necessities
Forget about your worries and your strife
I mean the bare necessities
Old Mother Nature’s recipes
As we are in the final weeks of summer and are almost back to school, I am thinking about some of the bare necessities for my family and I.
This summer, we have traveled and spent a lot of time together doing some amazing things. My family is definitely my bare necessity. Even if there is one day where we might be buzzing with too much energy, there is not one day that goes by where I don not need them.
Wherever I wander, wherever I roam
I couldn’t be fonder of my big home
Happy moments with my girls always bring a smile to my face. We wandered here and there down the east coast and explored many new places. But in the end, when we return home and are reunited as a family of 5, this is when the bare necessities of life come to me. It is all about family.
Forget about your worries and your strife
When I vacation with my girls, I could see that they too needed time to relax.
Taking a break from the routine is important for all.
I’ll tell you something true
The bare necessities of life will come to you.
Since we are off for the summer, there are times that my husband cannot come along with us because of work. But, no matter where we roam, he will always be waiting for us at home and truly is a part of our bare necessities. Reconnecting after some time apart is super important and necessary for all of us.

Yes, family time is mine as well. I didn’t even sign the kids up for camp this Summer just so we could spend more time together.
I can not wait to see this movie! Petes Dragon (and Bed knobs and broomsticks) was one of my favourite movies from when I was a kid.
You know, you got me thinking. Give me my family, a place to rest my head at night and something to fill my belly and I am good.
If I have food, water and family everything is icing on the cake!
