Dear Diary,
I must tell you about the most wonderful day I had. While celebrating the upcoming release of Bridget Jones’s Baby myself and fellow blogger friends were treated to an afternoon of tea and utter delightment while conversing with Renee Zellweger and Director Sharon Maguire. The film will bring laughter and tears to all the will be watching on the big screen. No worries, if you haven’t see the first two films. Though I highly recommend seeing the first film.
Renee and Sharon were amazing to listen to regarding the roles of the characters and the enjoyment that Bridget has brought to so many fans. When asked about reprising her role – it was like meeting up with your best friend again. It was a “fantastically happy reunion” for Renee, she has so much love for Bridget and nostalgia for her as well. It was a pleasure for her to be back in her boots. Even with many cast members reprising roles it was a collaborative effort for all involved.
This film is the type you will see with your girlfriends, Mom and anyone who will enjoy a really good laugh. The comedy aspect is spot on, physically these characters are able to make it work and have us in disbelief as to what just happened.
Renee let us know that she loves comedy that comes from truth. I love comedy that comes from awkward sort of human experiences. I mean, there’s nothing funnier, and we all relate to them because we go, “Oh my gosh. Thank God that’s not me.
The improv that happens on the set is brilliant. I don’t think Sharon could have picked a better cast.
I don’t want to give away too much of the film- however here is a brief synopsis:
Oscar® winners Renée Zellweger and Colin Firth are joined by Patrick Dempsey for the next chapter of the world’s favorite singleton in Bridget Jones’s Baby. Directed by Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary), the new film in the beloved comedy series based on creator Helen Fielding’s heroine finds Bridget unexpectedly expecting.
After breaking up with Mark Darcy (Firth), Bridget Jones’s (Zellweger) “happily ever after” hasn’t quite gone according to plan. Fortysomething and single again, she decides to focus on her job as top news producer and surround herself with old friends and new. For once, Bridget has everything completely under control. What could possibly go wrong?
Then her love life takes a turn and Bridget meets a dashing American named Jack (Dempsey), the suitor who is everything Mr. Darcy is not. In an unlikely twist she finds herself pregnant, but with one hitch…she can only be fifty percent sure of the identity of her baby’s father.
The much-anticipated third installment of the Bridget Jones’s franchise welcomes fellow Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson to the cast. Longtime collaborators Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title Films produce alongside Debra Hayward.

I honestly cannot wait for this movie, it’s exciting and it’s always been fun to watch the Bridget Jones movies so I expect this is going to be the same. I’m so glad they chose Patrick Dempsey! He’s amazing.
Team Jack since Dempsey is still McDreamy. Ending up with him would be something else.
