Last summer, my girls started swimming lessons for the first time. I am happy to say that even my youngest has become a strong swimmer. This is a life skill that will be with them forever. Now that the Olympic Games are here, we are excited to watch them especially swimming as a family and support Team USA.
Although all three of my girls have had lessons, it was just amazing to me to watch my youngest. Last summer, she was four years old and could not swim without a pair of swimmies. Throughout the last year, she has learned proper breathing techniques, freestyle, backstroke and has started to try breaststroke too.
Now, she loves going off the diving board where the water is 13 feet deep. She is able to use her knowledge of swimming to independently get to the wall after she attempts some serious jumps. (Ok, not so serious at this time below, but lots of fun.)
I’m hoping to watch the Olympic hopefuls dive with her so she sees what it is all about.
We are proud to support Team USA and are happy to begin watching the Olympics as a family.
We cannot wait to watch David Boudia dive.
Another way we support Team USA is by buying P&G products at Walmart to support Team USA.
You can head to this Walmart page to shop products and help support our team. It is easy for us because we use many of the products listed. For example, Head & Shoulders® Classic Clean is a shampoo that we always have in the house. No one wants to have an itchy scalp of dandruff flakes. I like that it relieves irritation and also leaves your hair looking great too.
Right now, my girls love to swim and I hope that that feeling starts to grow. Maybe they might want to start competing in the fall. It is all up to them and the power of their dreams! I’m sure that at one point the Olympic hopefuls were like my two girls with big dreams for the future.
So #LetsPowertheirdreams and support Team USA by shopping for P&G brands at Walmart.
That’s great that they’ve really taken to swimming and enjoy it! It’s a great skill to always have.
That’s fantastic! As you know, learning how to swim is a vital survival skill. So glad to see this post.
My daughter did better learning on her own than with lesson.

Go girl!
I watched some of the Olympic trials for the swimmers and it was really entertaining. I was surprised that I remember so many names from last Olympics.
How awesome is that! Hope you guys have fun watching the Olympics this year! 🙂
Swimming is such a great lesson to have.
That’s awesome! I bet she’s loving Katie Ledecky!
I wish her the best of all luck. Work towards that goal, and things will be great!
such a wonderful exercise. i loved swimming. i know some of my friends that had kids swim thru school, many early hrs of moms getting up taking their kids to the pool b4 school and after school. lots of hard work. hope they continue.
Thats amazing.
I remember getting swimming lessons as a kid, those were fun days. It must be exciting to see your child really take off in ability. I didn’t learn to dive until some years ago, our lessons as a kid didn’t cover that, and I could never afford lessons as an adult, and couldn’t figure it out. I finally spent one summer over and over learning to dive. When I finally did, I was so excited I dived the whole summer non-stop!
What an awesome goal for her to have!! Good luck to her!!
