- Be present – Sometimes, just being there can make all the difference. I attended almost every game. It helped that the games were scheduled in the evening and on the weekends.
- Practice, Practice, Practice – Although I haven’t played softball in a long time, I supported her by helping my daughter and her friends get picked up and dropped off home after practice. Since I am home early from work, I did my best to carpool some of the girls home. In addition, we found a local place where she could practice with a professional to improve her swing and hit.
- Sunscreen! – No one needs a burn while enjoying a game. I make sure to pack a sunscreen stick in her bag so that she can reapply when needed.
- Keep your athlete hydrated. – By planning ahead, I have drinks like ice water and BODYARMOR chilled and ready for her. Whether she is playing first base or in the outfield, it gets hot and she gets thirsty. It is important to constantly hydrate.
Thanks for the information, I hope to try this drink.
Good to know about Bodyarmour drinks. One day I saw a kid faint on the softball field from dehydration. It is so important to keep fluids in our kids!
I haven’t tried these yet, they do sound good. And I’m glad you brought up sunscreen, as many times nobody really thinks about it for sports, only the beach, etc.
