I have always been a fan of Lisa Loeb. I still have to sing to the top of my lungs when I hear “Stay” on the radio.
About a year ago, I was able to attend a Lisa Loeb concert in the city and fell in love again with all her classic favorites.
Now, Lisa Loeb has a wonderful selection of children’s music that is awesome too!
“When I had my first child, I came back to the classic nursery rhymes through illustrated books, but in a lot of cases, I couldn’t remember the exact melodies, notes Lisa Loeb, whose album Nursery Rhyme Parade! debuted exclusively with Amazon Music on October 16th. My mom would come to town and remind me of some of them, but I realized that the rhymes are so catchy, this generation should remember the melodies too. They are very simple and resonant. I wanted to make a record that sounded like a mom singing to her child in their room. These are the songs I sing to my young children when we’re getting out of bed, when we get dressed in the morning, when we drive in the car, take a bath, or get ready for bed. The production and singing are gentle and simple and made to help a parent connect with their child and the child connect with the music and the songs.”
Lisa Loeb’s Nursery Rhyme Parade! features 35 familiar nursery rhymes and songs, collected from hundreds of possibilities in the children’s canon. Guest artists include singer-songwriter Renee Stahl, with children’s voices rounding out the inviting and joyful tone of the album.
Lisa is excited to be working with Amazon Music for the release of Nursery Rhyme Parade! “As an independent artist, it’s wonderful to find new ways of sharing my music, and they reach an incredibly wide audience. As a parent, I love the convenience of selecting music from Amazon. The company offers fans easy and fun ways to discover and enjoy new music.”
I love the idea that she devoted an album to nursery rhyme classics. I taught kindergarten for about 9 years and there are some children that have not been exposed to these classic favorites. It is a wonderful addition to a child’s musical collection sung by one of my favorites, Lisa Loeb.
One lucky reader will receive a copy of Lisa Loeb Nursery Rhyme Parade!
Brahm’s Lullaby.
Twinkle little star. My daughter has sung this song since my son was born and it always calms him.
My girls would like jack and Jill or Mary had a little lamb
I would like to hear row row row your boat on the album.
