Natural Haircare Products that Parents Absolutely Need Not Want for Hair-raising Adventures

disclosure -sponsored postlogo-desktop

We all have known someone who has received that dreaded letter home from school that someone in your child’s has been sent home with LICE.

The 4 letter word that is feared by all parents. Or quite possibly your own child was sent home. Some say how did you not know? It isn’t easy to see at first but after the incubation period you know and you want to do everything to get rid of them and prevent them for “jumping” to others in your household.  It has nothing to do with coming from a clean or dirty home.   The stigma that comes along with it and then having to tell those you have been around for the past 2 weeks that they might have it too.   With summer camps and traveling coming up this summer you want you children and your self to be protected and now you can prevent LICE.  27082893806_890025acfd_b

Fairy Tales  has been around since 1999 and been the savior for many families who have had to deal with nits and the combing of lice.  It isn’t a fun job but Fairy Tales makes it easy to do.  Momtrends recently invited me to check about what was new from Fairy Tales. I was very familiar with their lice prevention and removal line but never new that had added so much more to their collection  Fairy Tales hair care system will now be my product of choice with 3 young girls who want to be Rapunzel with long locks of hair and who are swimming 2-3 times a week.   Insta-This Social Media Suggestions_Rosemary Repel
From now on my girls are spraying their hair before leaving the house in the morning. With the many sports they play requiring helmets that are shared amongst the team this is a must have.  If you have gone through the lice removal process before let me assure you that never want to do it again.

With a few sprays of the Rosemary Repel you will feel relieved that your kids are well protected.  This is especially great to take along for sleepovers and pack for road trips. Keep an extra bottle in your toiletry kit.  Did you know that all of the products from the Fairy Tales line are made with the best organic ingredients, have no harsh chemicals, sulfates or paraben. They are also dairy, gluten soy and nut free.   Rapunzel Red Ringer

Momtrends and Fairy Tales have made this process so much easier that every mom deserves to have a little toast to saying goodbye to lice or the “I hope I never have to deal with it in my house feeling” with a drink named after their line of hair products.

The Rosemary Repel smells so great while being sprayed that you just have to have a drink that will taste just as nice.   The Rapunzel Red Ringer is delicious, follow the directions above for an amazing drink to add your next party.

With summer quickly approaching and pool parties the days of dried out hair will soon be upon us. However with Fairy Tales Sun & Swim collection you don’t have to worry. My 3 girls have bee recently taking swim lessons and the chlorine has done some damage to their blonde locks.  We are excited to test out this line and add it to our pool bag  and see the transformation from tints of green to now shiny beautiful blonde hair.  Sun & Swim Products Photo

So when you have had a long day at the beach or pool you can enjoy an all natural drink just like Sun & Swim line. The Sunburst Sangria  is sensational addition to your Saturday night line up.

Tangle Tamers Infographic

I know one thing that we have dealt with while having 3 girls  is having knots and tangled hair.  This is no fun for especially little ones. They fear a hairbrush and they start to run away from you.

I don’t like seeing them with tears in their eyes saying their head hurts from trying to untangle their long hair.   I wish I had this product growing up for myself. Our routine after washing hair is using the detangling spray but now we will be adding the shampoo and conditioner to our evening routines.  With  the humidity rising hair tends to be more frizzy, I can’t wait to see this static free spray will work for the summer.  27082893716_9b1e97a36a_b

When everyone is tucked in bed with smooth and shiny hair you can treat yourself to one of my favorite drinks the Blue Fairy Margarita.   Just the like the tangle tamers the aloe infused drink will give you a refreshed feeling.

Don’t forget Fairy Tales hair care line is not just for kids.   You will be enjoying all the benefits as well of lice free, detangled hair that is smooth and soft to brush and that smells so refreshing. You can purchase Fairy Tales directly from their website or use their store locator to find a salon near you.

I had lice once. My aunt’s solution was to smother my entire scalp with mayonnaise, then I was sent to bed with a swimming cap. Next day I took a shower. No more lice.

Thank goodness there are easier products than the old fashioned methods. When I was a kid (keep in mind I am older) kids would literally have their hair shaved off- including girls.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice.
