Get The Most Out Of Light with Citizen Watch (Giveaway)

20160125_101824

Is this winter giving you the blues?  Are you lacking motivation to do your normal routine?  Well let’s face we all get stuck in a rut every once in while.  But this winter seems to worse than other.   Did you know that January 25th is considered to be the most depressing day of the year?

Citizen Watch wants to help eliminate those blues and help you Get The Most Out of Light.   Beat the Monday blues and make today a little bit brighter.

citizen watch

Some tips I learned on how to brighten your mood.

  1. Open the curtains in you home to let the natural sunlight in your home.
  2. Invest in a light box such as Happy Light, Scientists have demonstrated that bright light therapy can act like daylight to restore balance, mood and energy.
  3. Even when it is really cold out, go outside for a quick walk.  We get used to staying in when it is cold but the fresh air does make a difference.
  4. Eating smarter can make a huge impact on how you feel.  Don’t forget to add some fruits and vegetables into your diet.

While at the Citizen Watch Flagship store in Times Square I was introduced to their latest technology of Eco drive.  I love that their watches do not require a battery to run.  A win for the environment too.

How great is it that your watch can still keep time when stored in a dark place for a period of time.

I have several watches that I don’t wear because I need to replace a battery.  My citizen watch that I received last year has only need to change the time for Daylight savings.

As styles have changed over the years so has their technology.
20160125_102325With a full array of styles there is sure to be a perfect match for you or a loved one.

The staff is so pleasant and will let you try on any style.

20160125_112246Of course I had to go with something that had a little bling to it.

Everyone loves a little sparkle in their life.

20160125_113241

I even had my new Silhouette Sport (MODEL: EW2370-57A) sized right in the store so I could start wearing it that day.   Since having a Citizen watch  and wearing it all the time I would highly recommend it to anyone is is thinking of purchasing a new watch.

EW2370-57A

Would you like to win one as well?

One lucky reader will win a  SILHOUETTE SPORT watch which has a  timeless silhouette with classic lines and sleek design, the Ladies’ Eco-Drive Sport features a stainless steel case & bracelet with a snow white dial and date. Estimated to be a $250.00 value.

We fight the winter blues by opening all the blinds during the daytime and letting the sunlight in. While the windows may let some cold in with the blinds open, to combat that, we bought the heavy duty cutains that keep out cold, heat, and light. We cut them in half and only put them in the top half of the windows between the window and the blinds to keep out the colder air. It works great and looks just fine.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

To enter:
1. Comment on this post as to why you would love the conversation starter deck of cards.

3. Follow me @SavvyMomNY I will pick the winners after 10pm on 11/22

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
