Get Your Goal On For 2016 (Giveaway)

My goal for 2016 is to become a healthy and active person. It has definitely been a struggle especially since turning 40 last year.  I have had my ups and downs.  This is why I am hoping that 2016 is no nonsense and I stick to my goals one day at a time.

I have been sharing with you a variety of things that I have been doing to achieve this goal and now I have some great products to share from Vitamin Shoppe that will help with life improvement.

Have you used some of these products? Some were favorites and some were new for me.

To help me achieve my goal, I will:

  1. Stress Less – This is definitely something that I need to do.  Did you know aswagandha extract is an herb that helps the body manage stress?  It is gluten, dairy, nut and soy free.
  2. Get a Good Night’s Sleep – Melatonin helps the body regulate sleep. 
  3. Add the friendly bugs to your diet – Probiotics help your digestive system and immune health.  Everyone wants their stomach to feel good.
  4. Keep on Moving – Track those steps.  The more activity, the more you move, the easier it is to achieve your goal! Next Step Pedometer is available to track your steps.  Just because the cold weather is here, it does not mean sit on the couch.  Get out and get moving!

4. Manage your weight – Protein Shakes are a great way to help after a workout.  I have found these to be a great help when focusing on weight loss.  As you can see pictured below, there are a variety of protein products available at Vitamin Shoppe.

    I barely take my daily vitamins, this would be a challenge for me. I am trying to get more excercise on a daily basis.

    Water and sleep are my two big things for staying healthy. I also believe in taking a multi vitamin everyday. I will be checking this out for sure.

    I try and workout 5 days a week although sometimes it’s only 3 or 4. Concentrate on getting more fruits and vegetables too.

    I gave up drinking soda. I also cut down to one cup of coffee per day and water the rest of the day.

Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments. 

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

Totally bittersweet and we went to visit Binghamton in October 2019 and only made it to two more before March 2020.
