Being a parent can be a challenge and VolunteerSpot is one thing that I use to make my life easier while finding the right time to spend in my child’s classroom.
Throughout preschool and the elementary school years, there are plenty of times that you are invited into the classroom to either volunteer of be a part of the day, mystery reader, or a craft.
Looking through my girl’s photo albums, I took a stroll down memory lane and remembered the fun activities that I supported the class with and got to spend one-on-one quality time with each of my girls.
Reading to the class during the holidays.
Signing up to support the class with a craft.
These times were always special. In the past, it was a challenge for me to get a time because the teachers put a sign up sheet outside the classroom door. Now, times have changed and VolunteerSpot is there to make life easier.
As a mom, I love being a part of VolunteerSpot. My daughter’s kindergarten teacher used it to plan her Mystery Readers throughout the year. It was so easy to use and I scored a bonus when I saw that a spot was available the morning of my older daughter’s Winter Concert. So now, when I take some personal time off on that day, I am able to be there for both of my girls.
As a teacher, I am excited to be using VolunteerSpot to prepare for our upcoming Halloween festivities. There are always fun activities going on like the one pictured below that could definitely use some parent volunteers. It is so simple to set up that you will want to use it all year long for big events as well as the small gatherings too.

What an easy way to get the class involved. I know there are times where it is hard to wait to check folders for a note in the evening. Everyone always has their phone and I find this is one of the ways VolunteerSpot makes it so easy to get involved.
This way, I have found that I get more immediate sign-ups and am able to plan for the party. Thank you VolunteerSpot. I am also one of the teachers on the school Sunshine Committee. I can’t wait to try it to plan a teacher potluck luncheon.
Another great use for VolunteerSpot is definitely sports. My girls play soccer and creating a snack schedule is super easy this way.
After playing hard, it is great to know that someone on the team has planned some healthy snacks for the players.
So, whether you are a parent or teacher, VolunteerSpot is definitely a way to get more volunteers!
Go ahead and give it a try by visiting the VolunteerSpot website.
Have you tried VolunteerSpot? What would you use it for?

Our son’s school would really benefit from using VolunteerSpot for events!
This is such a great idea. It would be great for soccer and cub scouts!
This is great for accountability and following through with all those good intentions!
I love Volunteer Spot and it would have made my life during my PTA tenure so much easier!
Our school uses this too and I ADORE it.
Cool app – I had never heard of it before!
Great post – I’m brining this up with out PTA!
Wow our school does not have this. I will have to look into.
That’s a WONDERFUL APP! I’ll have to inform Gabby’s School teacher about this
I love Volunteer Spot! I was head of fundraising at my kids’ school before this existed. I was so jealous of the people who came after me and had this wonderful tool!
What a super smart idea this is!Now the my boys are in middle school, i don’t think i will get a chance to participate as much. This may be the way to go!
Our PTO uses VolunteerSpot – love it!!! Very easy to use.
I don’t use a cellphone (yeahI am a dinosaur) and find some of these apps look so useful. I remember volunteering in class and it was so much fun to see and meet the other kids. I always liked doing it, and something like this app would have made things easier #GIFT
