Recently I have started walking daily logging 2-3 miles. However I wasn’t sure how to add running into the mix. I didn’t want to over do it and get tired too easily.
I was able to partner up with Momtrends to get the run down on the fitness app called Runkeeper. This unique app allows you to track you daily runs but can also help you getting started on a training regimen by mixing walking and running.
While testing out the app we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge which was a first for me and many others. I have to admit that this was my first time walking across the bridge even though I have lived in the city my whole life. The views are absolutely breathtaking.
While crossing over the Brooklyn Bridge, it was amazingto see how active everyone in NYC is, from riding bikes and walking across the bridge everyone is on the go and moving at a quick pace.
But sometimes it is nice to stop and just enjoy the view.
This interactive app allows you to post your progress on all social media platforms. Don’t worry about getting stuck in the same routine you can create and add routes on runkeeper.com then follow them while you workout. What I liked best about the app is that every 5 min my progress was being reported from distance to my speed. This gave me that extra little push to keep moving faster.
The speed walkers posing for a pic.
Of course after a workout who doesn’t want to a have healthy meal? It was great hearing about everyone’s fitness experiences and to know that I wasn’t the only one who had never been across the bridge before.
I am looking forward to using Runkeeper to track my progress and see how I can add running into my fitness routine.
Do you have any favorite fitness apps that you use?
