Today is National #ShareYourCare day and I was on hand to see Zachary Kaplan donate 400 Care Bears to those in need in New York City and the surrounding areas.
For Zach this all started with a small mission to make a difference and he has proven himself over and over. I first heard about Zachary this summer while attending Blogger Bash in NYC. I was so impressed with his mission to help others. So was American Greetings and the Care Bears that they wanted to help as well.
Zach wanted every child to be able to go to bed with a stuffed animal just like his Grandmother have given him. Many children in the tri-state area don’t have that opportunity. So with the help of American Greetings and Care Bears they have partnered with Leake and Watts to help children in need.
10-year-old philanthropist, Zachary Kaplan will commemorate the new school year by paying it forward in honor of National #ShareYourCare Day, and gifting Care Bears to four hundred needy children aged 2-4. To do this, he teamed up with the iconic children’s brand known for sharing and caring, the Care Bears, and Leake & Watts, a local human services agency, that provides vital support to 8,000 children, adults, and families each day in the greater New York Metropolitan Area to make it happen..
Together with Care Bears, Zachary Kaplan will present 400 Care Bears plush toys and DVDs to children in the Leake & Watts early childhood programs at a very special celebration just for them. The event coincides with the first ever National Care Bears #ShareYourCare Day, as designated by the registrar of the National Day Calendar.
Zach is seen here receiving the proclamation from Deputy Bronx Borough President Aurelia Greene and Angelina Castro from American Greetings (L)and Leake & Watts President. (R)
Recognizing the iconic toy brand and its influence on caring, sharing and lending a helping hand around the world, the Ambassador group, along with fans in the #ShareYourCare Crew, are challenged to Share, Care, Love and Help those around them every day of the year.

Through the National #ShareYourCare Day movement, the Care Bears are reminding fans that their kind actions, small and large, can make a difference., Sharing your care can be simple things like sharing a toy with your sibling, taking out the trash for your mom, helping an older neighbor across the street; or bigger things like planting a tree, or spending a day volunteering for a charity. The Care Bears are inspiring fans to think of others and #ShareYourCare every day.
