Thank you to Legacy Games for sponsoring this post. As always, all opinions are my own.
My girls love music. My third grader plays the violin and we all listen to a variety of music together.
I knew that the Crayola® DJ app, a cool and unique music creation app for kids, would definitely be something that my girls would want to check out. This app is geared for ages 6-10. You can head to Google Play to download Crayola DJ
As we explored the app together, I immediately thought of STEAM education which integrates arts with STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education. Getting both sides of the brain to learn new skills in an imaginative way is something that I see this app supporting. By being able to compose your own music and share, kids have fun and learn at the same time.
With Crayola DJ, kids can learn the basics of music production, as well as mixing and scratching music just like a real DJ!
Kids will have so much fun playing with almost 100 exclusive tracks (created by professional DJ’s).
5 musical styles are available, including Hip Hop, Pop and Dance. -Mix it!
Kids can easily mix multiple tracks simultaneously in any way they choose, creating customized, professional -sounding results. Kids will enjoy it, no matter the child’s musical knowledge or skills. Once a child has mixed their music to perfection, it’s performance time! They can perform on the main stage for an audience, scratching the turntable and creating a spectacular light show with the color-coded tracks. It’s a lot of fun and they can even earn points during the show: The more scratching and on the fly changes children make, the greater the applause of the crowd and the higher the point score. -DJ Battle!
DJs can also battle it out in two-player mode to see who the star of the main stage is. -Save the music! After every performance, DJs can then save their music to play again and again and even share with friends and family.
With Crayola® DJ, kids become their own celebrity DJs!
The new Crayola® DJ app is available now for $4.99 on Google Play for Android phones and tablets.
In June, it will also be sold in the iTunes Store for iOS devices, for the same price.

Sounds like such a great app for the young ones to have, I love that you can use it with STEAM to educate the children. Great review.
Wow this looks like a fun app for kids! We like for the apps that we get for the kids to be fun but also educational and creative. This one looks like it fits!
What a cool way for kids to be creative. Crayola is the best.
ok this app sounds pretty cool!!! It’s crazy how many fun apps there are these days for kiddos!
That sounds fun and possibly a little bit educational. My three year old loves music, and this would be the app for him, when he’s old enough of course.
This really does sound like a lot of fun–I’ve often wondered how those DJ’s do it!!
I liked the idea that kids can compose their own music and share. And like you said combines STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education and arts together for kids to play and learn.
I think this is one of the few electronic apps that I might just let my kids play whenever during the summer. Endless music and the maniupulation thereof is always good.
Wow this is awesome! My daughter would have so much fun with the app. She loves dancing.
I had no idea that Crayola came out with an app like this. We are huge Crayola fans in my house.
Love the marriage with technology– Crayola has it all!!
My daughter is a little too young for this app, but our whole family loves music! We got a set of instruments from Melissa & Doug and she plays with them every day! I will have to keep this app in mind for a few years from now!
My granddaughter LOVES to make music so this is right up her alley! I’ll have to download it on our tablet for the next time she comes over. Thanks for the great share! 🙂
This looks like a really fun app. My toddler is a bit younger than the recommended age, but I don’t think that will stop me from downloading and trying it out anyways.
This looks like a super fun app. I have a nephew who would love this that I will have to pass on the info to 🙂
Grandkids would love this. I will have to get it.
They have so many creative apps now! I can’t imagine what it would have been like to grow up with them.
