New York moms like me are busy and always on the go.
Planning a baby shower or sprinkle can be a challenge especially when you are trekking the city with your own children. Thanks to CVS, I was able to plan my sprinkle and purchase diapers and wipes as gifts. I chose Huggies because #MomsTrustHuggies.
When planning a Baby Sprinkle in NYC, I use all the resources that the city has to offer. I am not a pastry chef nor a baker so I rely on my local cupcake shops to make cupcakes that will wow my guests.
Now, onto the diaper cake. As one who recycles and tries my best to not waste, I wanted the diapers in my cake to be able to be used. My sister came up with a great idea that then became a theme for our sprinkle. We used a round basket and only needed to hot glue gun 5 to the outside. In the basket, she arranged the Snug & Dry diapers and Little Movers diapers in layers just like petals. This way, no glue or tape was needed. Finally, she adorned the rose diaper cake with pink petals. This cake was easy to put in a bag and transport around the busy city to the party.
Busy city moms need a fully functional diaper bag filled with all the necessities for the day. Once out of your house or apartment, you do not want to forget anything and have to go back and get it. There are times when you will need your bag and the there are times where you will leave your bag attached to the stroller and want to take take a smaller bag for a quick change. This is what makes the Huggies Clutch ‘n’ Clean with strap a perfect choice.
A sprinkle is thrown for moms that have children already. It is smaller that a baby shower but still important. We had many dessert choices and flatbread pizza from a local favorite for all the guests to enjoy.
Onto the games! For our baby sprinkle, we chose two fun games: Name Dropping and the Baby Pin Game.
This was one time where “Name Dropping” was ok. Guests wrote their favorite baby names on a piece of paper and dropped it in the box. At the end of the shower, Mom-to-be can read all the baby names that guests suggested.
The Baby Pin Game is lots of fun too. As guests arrive, they are given a pin to wear. From that moment on, guests who are caught using the word “baby” lose their pin to the one who caught them. The guest with the most pins at the end, wins!
In the city that never sleeps, you want your precious baby to sleep.
My helpful hint is to take your baby for walks. Let them become familiar with all the sounds of NYC. This way, it will be just like background noise that soothes them to sleep. I always took my girls everywhere which sometimes made it difficult to nap. By taking them for walks here and there, it gave me piece of mind and a happy sleeping baby who could sleep through almost any noise.
Don’t forget to shower the siblings too. When hosting a sprinkle, it is always good to have a little something for the big brother and sister-to-be.
NYC can be an expensive place to live. So this NYC mom loves to find a deal. This is so easy at CVS! Between extra bucks and coupons, plus a sale, it can really make a difference.
To help you with your diapers purchase, here is a $2 of $10 purchase of Huggies products.
