Are you getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving day with family and friends while watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? It is a tradition in our household to see all the performances and check out the latest balloons that have been added every year.
Big news from Skylands! Skylanders, the popular kids video game that brings physical toys to life, is taking flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time! Fan-favorite Skylanders character Eruptor will join the prestigious collection of balloons at the parade, marking a significant pop culture milestone for the franchise.
To re-create Eruptor’s smoldering physique, artists used more than 40 gallons of florescent paint and five barrels of glitter! The live broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. all time zones on NBC.
About Skylanders & Eruptor
The award-winning, $2 billion Skylanders videogame franchise debuted in 2011 with Skylanders® Spyro’s Adventure, which featured the Toys-to-LifeTM interactive figures, portal, and accessories and firmly established the play pattern that seamlessly bridges the physical and virtual worlds across multiple platforms.
The newest game, Skylanders Trap Team, is now available at retail nationwide on Xbox 360™ and Xbox One™; PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® 4; Wii™ and Wii U™; and a unique adventure is also available on 3DS™. Skylanders Trap Team also ushers in the complete console gaming experience on Tablet¹, introducing a Starter Pack that supports iPad®, Kindle Fire and Android tablets.
Fan-favorite character Eruptor, who will be flying high above the New York City skyline, hails from deep in the underground of a floating volcanic island that launched his entire civilization to the surface after a massive eruption. He’s a complete hot head – steaming, fuming, and quite literally erupting over almost anything.
We love to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade every year! My grandsons will be excited about this float, too. They are also looking forward to seeing Thomas the Train!
One day we will get to NYC to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade! I absolutely adore New York and have been many times, but never for the parade. It’s a dream of mine to take my son one year. :O)
