Easy Minibraids for Back to School with SoCozy Hairstyling Products

Disclosure SamplesFor this Back To School season, I thought that I would try to do some cute styles in my daughters’ hair.  With three girls,  I need to work on my skills and I have found that So Cozy hairstyle products help to tame the flyaways and keep cute styles in place.  Best of all, So Cozy uses natural ingredients that are safe to use on all of my daughters.

Over the summer, my youngest said goodbye to about 6 inches of hair for a cute bob.  While looking through Cozy’s Complete Guide to Girls’ Hair, I found that there were many great styles that I could do on my own and in a short amount of time in the morning.  One of my favorites is minibraids.

To get started, I used Cinch Detangler + Leave-In Conditioner in Fruity-tutti to take out the knots and keep the crying away.   Then I added Behave Styling Mouse Medium Hold in Peachy-keen to keep flyaways in place and create a smooth style.

Using the book as a guide, I braided each section and used little elastics to keep each braid in place.

When each braid was complete, I gathered them together with a cute clip.

One of these days, I will be able to do Cozy’s signature heart braid. A few years ago,  I was at an event and my oldest and I met Cozy Friedman and her stylists.

They did the heart braid in her hair with perfection.

I love how this style gathers the hair. So pretty and classic!

In addition to using natural ingredients, So Cozy products smell delish.  Each has a very pleasant scent that is appropriate for the little ones.

Cozy’s Complete Guide to Girls’ Hair ($15.95) is a book that I have enjoyed using for a few years now and highly recommend it for great tips for girls from the best cuts for face shapes, to instant fixes for bad hair days and five-minute styles.

I could definitely use So Cozy products for my daughter’s hair, especially the Cinch detangler/leave-in conditioner! I think I need to pick up the So Cozy Complete Guide to Girls’ Hair. I’m not that great at doing my daughters hair and a guide would be helpful!

So pretty! That is probably THE biggest thing I miss about not having girls. I used to love to do my little sisters’ hair growing up. I’d come up with all sorts of cute designs.
Loving these naturally formulated hair products for kids! Reminds me I need to order my boys some shampoo and gel.

The products sound really nice. I love where you gathered the braids and fastened them with a clip. My granddaughters hair would look so cute. I’ll have to tell my daughter about it.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
