Last week, I shared the beginning of our journey traveling with kids in a 2014 Toyota Highlander down to North Carolina. As we were almost there, about an hour away, we let them know that were making an overnight stop at Great Wolf Lodge. Yes, did you hear the screams from the car too? I find that when traveling with kids, it is good to have some tricks up your sleeve. Surprises and new things help keep everyone happy, even mom!
We have been to the Great Wolf Lodge in PA, but never to the one in NC. They were so excited that they could not wait to explore. Lucky for us, the minute we walked in, we came across this special wolf, Oliver. We knew this overnight surprise was just what we all needed to begin our summer vacay.
After we met Oliver the wolf, we then went and found bears in our room.
After traveling for about 12 hours, this stop was well deserved. We did not waste any time. After a quick stop in the room, we went right to the indoor waterpark. Good times for all ages!
After this exciting stop, it was time to visit our family. As we hopped backed into the Toyota Highlander, we knew we were just a short distance to our final destination. All passengers enjoyed the last hour of our smooth ride. As we pulled into the development, we encountered another animal siting.
The Toyota Highlander navigation gave us the comfort of knowing that we were on the right track and enabled us to stop at many different places along the way. #LetGoPlaces with Toyota!
Have you been on vacation lately?
What places did you visit?
I haven’t been on vacation in a long time. The last vacation I spent in Washington, DC.
Looks like you had such a great time. I love traveling with family. I am ready to plan a trip for next year.
We went here a couple years ago but in Michigan and the kids had such a good time. Would love to go again soon
We’re actually heading there tomorrow so I’m excited to get a preview.
Great car! I just got back from Philadelphia. It was my first visit and so wonderful!
We are planning on going to great wolf lodge in PA in october. We cant wait, looks fun!
I love traveling places with our four kids. What great memories you’re making!
We’ve been so many fun places this summer. I need to keep the kids home and bored so they will be excited to go back to school.
We love trying out new Toyota’s. They are such a great company. My kids really love Great Wolf Lodge!
Fun! We just returned from vacation. We visited family in the Pacific northwest… Seatlle, WA area. 🙂
My kids LOVE to go on random outdoorsy outings. We rely on spontaneity often.
We went on a Road trip from Washington State to California, and we had a blast along the way looking at the sites and eating at different places. It is always fun to go on a vacation with the family.
We are heading to Myrtle Beach on Friday!
What a fun family trip! We went to Kansas City last month and visited LegoLand. It was a lot of fun.
I have heard nothing but great things about Great Wolf Lodge. One day though we’ll take the kids to one.
Just got back from Erie, PA, it was great.
I absolutely LOVE roadtrips and love how spacious that car is for all those long limbs! Comfort is key when driving any long distance.
There is a GWL about an hour from where we live, would love to take the kids one day.
We haven’t been anywhere this summer, one year we did take a cross country trip across 15 states, I live in NC but haven’t been to the Great Wolf Lodge yet, I hear it is great!
I’ve been flying lately, but my next car trip is to the other side of the state. I stayed at that Great Wolf Lodge once. It’s quite nice!
We a took a trip to the Daytona 500. We had a great time, the kids loved seeing all the race cars.
We went to visit friends in Missouri and saw the fantastic caverns my kids really enjoyed that.
You know how to make the trips doable for kids! It is good idea keeping the lodge a ‘secret,’ and I’m getting a chuckle at their screams of delight!!! Nice car to travel in, too!!!
