I really didn’t know much about Earth to Echo when I arrived at the theater. I brought my girls who, at times, were on the edge of their seats wondering what was going to happen next.
I felt nostalgic watching this movie with my girls. I was brought back to memories of The Goonies and stories of the last adventure before an event happens in their lives. It also made me thing of Batteries Not Included as well as E.T. too. To make it a movie for this generation, it is filmed through the preteen eyes in a documentary style which also combines texting and phone use too.
My oldest daughters attended with me and they are 8 and 10.
Their favorite part was when they found out how to communicate with Echo. They thought it was awesome that he could understand. Although they did not know if they would be scared or not, in the end, they loved it and fell in love with Echo. We loved the bond of friendship and how they overcame some obstacles while trying to save their new friend.
