July 4th is right around the corner and as a New Yorker, I have always enjoyed watching the Macy’s Fireworks display on TV. From now until then be part of the celebration that is taking part in many Macy’s across the country. This past week Macy’s launched a tribute to American Icons: A Celebration of the People, Places & Things We Love.
Throughout Macy’s 34th Street, the entire store is decorated in red, white & blue from intricate window displays to mannequins dressed in fashionable outfits. With Memorial Day coming up, I need to spruce up my patriotic look and Macy’s has something for everyone.
Through out the night, every level of the store was celebrating in it’s own unique way. One of my favorite things to do in the city is to watch Broadway musicals. Having a chance to see the members of the cast of Rocky was a great highlight of the evening.
Next up we heard from Got Your 6′s Managing Director Chris Marvin and how Macy’s helps contribute to the Got Your 6 campaign and how we as shoppers can make a difference.
For the second year in a row, Macy’s is launching their American Icons campaign with Got Your 6 to celebrate the people, places and things that inspire our dreams, fuel our passions and make us proud to live in the Land of the Free. The campaign will kick off on Got Your 6 Saturday, May 17th and will last until Monday, May 26th. Got Your 6 will be present in almost every Macy’s store across the nation, as well as online and in their mail catalogs, spreading the Got Your 6 message and changing the conversation.
What couldn’t be more fitting after hearing about the Got your 6 campaign was to hear Country Singer Trace Adkins perform. Trace is a huge supporter of the Got your 6 and being in the audience was so touching to hear him sing Semper Fi. This intimate setting was perfect, it felt like you were having a private performace and he was singing just to you.
Check out the photos below for some great looks that can be found while shopping at Macy’s.
When you aren’t shopping inside the store, make sure you check out the windows that feature some intricate patriotic displays. Which one is your favorite?
