The circus came to town! The Big Apple Circus’ that is! We got to attend this awesome big top circus at the TD Bank Ball Park in Bridgewater, NJ. LUMINOCITY is the title of this amazing show that hosts the greatest artistic circus performers under a big top. Every seat is a good one because no seat is more than 50 feet from the ringside!
I have attended other circuses but the Big Apple Circus is definitely the best and I can’t wait to go again! Each act was family friendly and kept you on the edge of your seat. We laughed and clapped through the whole show.
We were amazed by the two man team, Acroduo, who used only their sheer strength, bodies and hands to perform feats of balance and acrobatic beauty. “Awhhh”, is the only word to describe the mini-dog show where talented canines performed amazing tricks. Robert Torres, the bashful clown, had everyone cheering and rooting for him. There was a husband and wife team who did teeth-chattering strolls and tricks across a tight rope. If that wasn’t enough, majestic horses awed all with their tricks and beauty.
The animals in this show are treated with positive reinforcement and love. As an avid animal lover myself, I am always concerned about the treatment of animals in the entertainment industry. Well, I had no need for concern here. You could feel the compassion and love for the dogs and horses by Jenny Vidbel, the animal trainer.
The action didn’t stop! The circus didn’t disappoint up to the last act where an awesome team of teeter-board flying acrobats soared through the air. It was just amazing!
Helpful Tips:
The show runs two hours, including a short intermission.
Parking is FREE!
Every seat is a good one!
This is an affordable event for you and your family because you aren’t bombarded to buy food, souvenirs, keepsakes, etc. throughout the show (like is done at the bigger venues)
If you want to buy something, you physically have to walk to the vendor outside the show.
Food is also affordable! We bought 4 hotdogs, a cotton candy and a popcorn for about $20 bucks. And if you don’t want to buy food at the circus, there are tons of restaurants right in the area to enjoy after the show.
This is now the show on my radar to go to when in town.
The circus is in town until March 16th. For details, click here.
