This summer will be the 4 year anniversary of Raising 3 Savvy Ladies! Woo Hoo!
I am often asked “How did you Begin?” So, I went back to my very first post and reread too see what I wrote. I have to say that I am glad people are interested and it was good for me to reread the first words that I typed on Blogger at the time. I am so happy for the new friends I have met and the opportunities that have come from Raising 3 Savvy Ladies and I am so glad I stuck with it!
If you are looking to start a blog, just do it!
So, here it is – my first words in the blogosphere!
My First Button
The Birth of a Blog!!
by KERRI on JULY 13, 2010
Welcome to my blog! Raising Three Savvy Ladies is finally here! The last couple of months, I have been thinking of ideas, searching, and looking for inspiration.
With my oldest two at camp, and my youngest, happy and fed, I said “Now is the moment.. do it now..”. So here I am! Blogging away.
Before January, I was a Facebook geek, not really knowing much about social media. I got involved with NYC MomsLike Me as a Discussion Leader ( the site is no longer available). I enjoyed meeting moms online and sharing the common thread that brings us all together – our children. As I learned, I wanted to find more about this world of social media – so I joined Twitter, and what a ride it has been!
I am learning as I go – so please bear with me!
Raising Three Savvy Ladies stands for what I hope this blog will be – a place to learn and share ideas about my life with my three girls. I am also a teacher so I will be adding insight to that. In addition, I am forever on a diet. I think it all goes hand in hand because in order to do a good job raising my girls, I need to share with them lots of different ideas on being savvy:
- Making Healthy Choices
- Being Eco-Conscious
- Smart with Money
- Clothing Smart
List to be updated as I think of more!
It is my hope that I will write about my trials and tribulations with my girls – the good, the bad, and the ugly. In addition, I am in the process of securing some giveaways to for my new followers.
The first place I will be headed is to a newly declared holiday – Staples has declared July 14 as the Official Start to the 2010 Back – to – School Shopping Season.
The teacher in me is thinking, “ARE you kidding? It is the middle of July?!?? The mom in me is thinking, “Yes! I now have the key to great deals and super discounts. My mom is chiming in my head, “The early bird catches the worm.” I will be the early bird! I have have been invited to preview the latest in back to school items.
So, welcome to my blog! I hope you enjoy my writing and come back often. I will share with you all that I learn tomorrow.
Love learning how you started and knowing that you’re the “early bird” Thanks for sharing!!

It’s fun to look back. I love that a blog allows us to read from the beginning.
When I look back at my first blog entries, I roll my eyes. You’re much better off than I was! My earliest posts aren’t even ON there anymore for good reason. 😉
Wow, congrats almost 4 years! It is fun to blog, and time consuming. LOL!

Happy Blogiversity! April will make 6 years for me. 🙂
It’s so fun to look back at those first moments & see both how much has changed and how much is still the same!
Im nearly 6 years, it goes by so quickly! And so fun to be a blogger too!
oooh i am scared to go back and read my first post. that was almost 5 years ago and I know my style has changed so much since then.
That’s awesome that your first post was so nice – Mine was pretty lame.. like ‘Whattapppp’ or something. Then I deleted it or changed it or something after blogging for a while… Now I just try not to dwell on my old posts 🙂
