Today is the day. Mr. Peabody and Sherman is in theaters!
Meeting the cast and director of Mr. Peabody & Sherman was a great experience. We had the opportunity to interview Ty Burrell and Max Charles who play Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Anyone who loves history will enjoy this funny family friendly movie.
I met with Ty Burrell and Max Charles along with a great group of bloggers to talk about the movie. When chatting about how playing the role of a genius father. Ty had some interesting words for us. When asked about playing the accomplished award winning Mr. Peabody, he said:
I am like that without the genius part. I have no clue how to be a parent or anything else.
No, I think De Niro putting on 60 pounds for Raging Bull is right here. And me trying to play a genius is like through the roof.
But, I love that about Peabody that he’s so perfect, and he has the answer for everything. You want to say almost he’s human. But, he has flaws. And the flaws are really with the irrational.
Everything rational he’s fine with. The things that are irrational, including comedy, he has mixed success with his jokes. Sherman doesn’t always get them.
But, I love that about him. You can pick the questioners. You take the power.
When I asked Max what time period in history he liked visiting in the film he answered:
Hmm. It’s a hard one. I like all of those places.
I like when, where was that when they were painting the Mona Lisa.
There are so many different parts of history that make the adults laugh and the kids wonder about new places to learn about.
Raising 3 Savvy Ladies enjoyed Mr. Peabody and Sherman and recommend this movie to all!
