‘Tis the weekend to be celebrating St. Patty’s Day! To help get ready for a family gathering at my house to celebrate this special day, I headed to Duane Reade for a wee bit of green decoration and some festive sweet treats.
My mother will be bringing the traditional soda bread and corned beef, so I thought I would make dessert. I bought cake mix and frosting.
To decorate my cake I purchased:
- Nice! Spearmint Leaves
- Nice! Mini Peanut Butter Cups
- Reeses Pieces
- Reeses Peanut Butter Cups
Duane Reade Seasonal is filled with Easter right now, but take a look for some good finds like the Green Easter Basket and St. Patrick’s Day Tattoos that I found mixed in the shelves too. Oh, and you can take out the Gold and Green foil Spring Reeses Peanut Butter Cups to add to your dessert table too.
While in the deLish aisle, the the Impressive Milk Chocolate Castle Cookies reminded me of the Castles of Ireland. And, when I saw the kilt on the Scottish Shortbread Fingers, I thought they would be a conversation piece at my party!
One of the best parts of Duane Reade is that they offer Papyrus cards. I fell in love with the glittery jeweled shamrock and I thought my three savvy ladies could give it to my mother and father. (In case you are a shop in advance kind of gal, the Papyrus section has beautiful Easter cards also available.)
Wishing you and your family a Happy St. Patty’s Day!
Wishing you happiness, health
and the luck of the Irish
on St. Patrick’s Day and Always

St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday! I wish we had a Duane Reade near us.
What a fabulous little St.Patrick’s Day party! How fun!
Cute cake! The little pots of gold in the center did it for me! I also adore those Papyrus cards. But then again, me and glitter are bffs! How did you find DeLish crackers in kilts, lol!
Yum! Now I want cake. But I think we’re just going to make a leprechaun punch for the kids.
What a fun party! You found some great stuff to celebrate.
That must have been a lot of fun to decorate that cake – it looks nice. I REALLY like that sparkly green and jeweled card – that is very lovely. Green is my favorite color too. Sometimes we go out to eat for St Patty Day or go have a bit of green beer.
My youngest son is all excited for this day. He has all green clothes picked out.
We’ll probably just have dinner as a family and talk about all of the fun stuff that happened during the day. I’ll also be giving out some of the treats I made on my blog post – check it out: http://tigerstrypes.com/st-patricks-treats/
I have been trying to think of something fun to do for my little ones for St. Patrick’s Day. I love your cake idea, so I might have to steal it! 🙂
We’re not Irish, but our son’s favorite color are green. I’ve got to find some green crafts like this for us to do Monday!
Looks like you’re completely ready to celebrate!
That looks like a very cute and delicious cake for St. Patrick’s Day! #client
Nom!
This will be bookmarked until next year’s St Patrick’s Day – thanks 🙂
Just connected on Twitter so I can read more of your lovely ideas – hopefully see you there!
