Thank you Brian for attending Walking with Dinosaurs on behalf of Raising 3 Savvy Ladies.
On Friday my son and I were lucky enough to see the NYC premiere of WWD. He was a little nervous at first because the commercials made the dinosaurs look very lifelike but was comforted when he saw the PG rating. The movie tells the story of Patchi, aPachyrhinosaurus, which kinda looks like a Triceratops, as he grows from being to runt of the litter to eventual become the leader of the pack. As we follow Patchi along this adventure the audience experiences action, tragedy, excitement and laughter, which comes from the movie’s narrator and Patchi’s friend, Alex an Alexornis, a distant relative of a modern day Raven.
I really liked that the movie focused of dinosaurs that aren’t as traditionally popular like the T.Rex, Triceratops or the Apatosaurus(what happened to the Brontosaurus anyway?). The movie introduced these “new” dinosaurs in an educational manner to help the audience understand Patchi’s new surroundings.
Visually the movie looks very realistic and the CGI is top notch. It is worthwhile to payup for the 3D because there are quite a few well timed moments which will make you and any 5 year old jump in their seat. Walking with Dinosaurs is both educational and entertaining and should be part of your holiday to do list.
Most importantly, on a scale of 1-5 my son gave it a 1,000.
