Thanks to Megan and her family for visiting the Long Island Children’s Museum on behalf of Raising 3 Savvy Ladies. Tickets were provided for her family.
My family and I love to visit the Long Island Children’s Museum (LICM) in Garden City. There’s never a shortage of interesting, hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Even I could keep myself entertained there!
My husband and I spent much of the day there with our 5 year old and 21 month old during the 20th birthday celebration. It was fantastic. There were fun birthday decorations, candle-making crafts, performers like dancers and clowns. Puppeteer Liz Joyce, the first performer to sell out the LICM Theater did a terrific performance of “King Midas.”
The special events topped what the LICM always has to offer, lots of exhibits for endless fun and learning.
The LICM always has a new themed exhibit on the first floor, and the current one is the best yet, in our opinion. “Broken? – Fix It!” has great hands-on activities that teach kids how everyday items are fixed, like cars, bicycles, jewelry and shoes. My son spent about 45 minutes with other kids building a “brick” wall and tearing it down.
I let our LICM membership lapse, but I think I’m going to renew it and take advantage of all the winter activities. This will be a great place to go during winter break!
We have a great children’s museum here in Denver. I like all the hands-on activities.
I think I’ve been there before! I used to live in Long Island. I miss it so much!
This looks like such a neat place! We still haven’t taken my grandsons to the children’s museum in Atlanta, but we need to soon!
I love The Childrens Museums. We have taken my grandson to several and each one he has the time of his life
Museums are always great places for families. All kinds of activities for the little ones and the adults as well.
