When my girls found out that we were going to be gettting the new 2013 Barbie Dreamhouse, they were in awe. Why is it new? What is different about it? We do have the original Barbie Dreamhouse that I was lucky enough to find in perfect condition at a garage sale. I have to say I even enjoyed playing with it too. It was, after all, my first dreamhouse too!
They were so excited that they wanted to play with it right away. Luckily, their dad was coming home early and this would be a perfect bonding experience for them. It does require three AA batteries that are not included.
When all was done, the girls took out their Barbie’s and they have been playing with it ever since.
It really does have some cool features:
- two elevators
- Snaps so pieces stay in place
- snap on
Take a look at our first video review ever! The girls wanted to try it out and explain to you what their favorite features are.
As I watch them play with this dreamhouse, I really like the shape of it. Its curved fan shape allows for all three girls to play at once without being shoulder-to-shoulder. It does take up more space but if you have more than once child playing with it, this shape brings more smiles while everyone can easily play together.
I also like that the dreamhouse comes with furniture. So, you are ready to play with it as soon as it is assembled.
For those thinking of purchasing for an upcoming birthday or for the holiday season, I would highly recommend setting it up in advance. It does take a few hours and it might be better to surprise a child with it assembled.
The Dreamhouse can be purchased at Walmart and retail stores nationwide.
Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) is $184.99.
