It has been a few weeks since we started using the Walmart Family Mobile service for my daughter’s new phone. When we found out the price of the service, we thought this was one of the best unlimited plans around. #FamilyMobileSaves only costs $40 for unlimited talk, text and web so this seemed like the lowest price rate plan around.
Why did I want to try this affordable cell phone service plan even though I am in the middle of contracts with my phone and my husband? Well, it’s pretty simple. My family is getting older. No one near me uses a home phone anymore and although it seems young, many of the kids have one near us and I wanted her to be able to stay in contact with good friends and begin to make safe choices and know the responsibilities of using a cell phone.
When the T-Mobile Samsung phone came, she thought nothing of it as it sat on the counter. When we sat her down and handed her the box, she was ecstatic. We spoke about safety and using the phone appropriately.
As parents, we are happy that we found a plan such as #FamilyMobileSaves so that she can have a phone with her to keep connected. Whether it is to call while at a friend’s house or to get picked up early from a sports practice, I have the peace of mind knowing that we can easily reconnect. And we are doing this while saving money at the same time! All I have to do is sign in to the online account management and information site for Walmart Family Mobile service and I can keep track of the phone by using Parent Controls to limit time and block web content that I would not want her to see. This is another reason of why I think it is the one of the best wireless plans.
Here’s her take on the phone:
I like having a phone because I can text my friends. I like that it is a larger phone and it takes great pictures. Having Instagram is fun too!
I must say the the connection is great too. We called in different areas, even in an elevator and the calls did not drop or sound fuzzy!
Just this past week, we went into the city to be tourists in our own town. Right to Times Square for to enjoy the hustle and bustle of tourists and everyday moments in the city. I am glad that she was able to start taking photos that she wanted to take and share with her friends. Maybe I might have a budding blogger!? I was also glad that she had the phone in case of in emergency, but luckily, that did not happen.
I am glad that we got the phone over the summer. This gave us plenty of time to check out the features. Now, as we prepare for the Back to School season, she will be ready! Soon, fall schedules will be coming, homework and projects too! Soccer practice, get-togethers and fun with friends are on her mind while the safety of staying connected at an affordable price is on mine.
Here she is showing her little sister how to use the phone.
Bech tech savvy and safe are two of the feautures that I like best and now she is also sharing that experience with her younger sister. Ahh, the joys of quiet bonding. Thanks #FamilyMobileSaves!
I have been reading a lot about these plans lately and am thinking they might be the answer to our needs when our contract is up in September!
Oh, this would definitely be a great family plan for anyone with teens! I can’t tell many times I’ve heard my older siblings mention the high cell phone bill their teens racked up because of texting too much or calling too much. I love that teenagers can have the unlimited texting without costing you $300!!!
That is a great phone and I’m glad to hear the service is good too! It’s good you talked about safe cell phone use, too.
A long while back, I would have been a parent who would say that my young kids don’t need a cell phone, but seriously…times are changing fast. My kids use a cell phone and I feel so much safer with them having it when they are at places without me. Everything I’ve been reading about the Walmart Family Plan tells me it’s a great option for parents who want a phone for their kids.
