Duane Reade Savings with Happy and Healthy #DRHappyHealthy

G+-disclosure-slide-gray

With the kids off to grandma’s for the evening, I headed to Duane Reade to peruse the aisles for savings without the interruptions.  I don’t mind shopping with them, but without them, I find that I can search at my leisure and find great deals to be one happy and satisfied customer.  I knew the ology products were on sale and I made sure to take my Balance Rewards card with me.

Duane Reade Happy and Healthy shopping trip #DRHappyHealthy

While alone at my local Duane Reade, I  looked through the  Duane Reade Happy and Healthy magazine  to see what was on sale and checked what I needed.   Right away, the ology products stood out since I needed Dish Soap, Hand Soap and bath products too.  While a product is on sale, I like to try it out to take advantage of the savings.  To see my whole trip to Duane Reade, check out my Google + story too.

Duane Reade Happy and Healthy Guide to Savings #DRHappyHealthy

I was happy to see that ology had products that I needed already at home and in the Happy and Healthy flier, they were Buy 1 Get 1 1/2 off.  So, I purchased the Hand Soap, Dish Soap, and Body Wash.  They are plant based and have no artificial ingredients.  Even better, they are endorsed by Healthy Child Healthy World.  This make it easier for a mom to make healthier choices when choosing products.

At checkout, I used my  Balance Reward card to colelct points on my purchase.  At this time, if you spend $30 on Duane Reade/Walgreen  products, you will get 5000 points which equals $5 off if your choose to redeem your points.  Or, you can collect your points for even greater discounts down the road.   By the using the Happy and Healthy Magazine, I knew exactly what brands and products were included in the sale.

Here I am using ology Dish Soap at home.  I like the scent and it works just like any other dish soap without the harsh ingredients.

It sounds like Duane Reade is definitely the pharmacy/drugstore at which to shop. They have everything and those balance reward points are the best!

We don’t have a Duane Reade in our area but I was in New York once and everyone raved about it. The magazine looks great and I love that you can find the products in it, right in the store and at such a great bargain.

Love that last picture of you 🙂

Isn’t it crazy that time alone shopping can be so wonderful when you’re a mom?

I’ll have to look for those products!

I’ve never seen Ology products before. I also didn’t know that Duane Reade and Wallgreens were the same thing! Learn something new every day.

Walgreens is the closest store to us. I’ll have to check out the Ology stuff next time I stop there.

I saw that Ology in the ad for Walgreens and have been wanting to give it a try! I’ll have to give it a try!

Smart shopping! The Ology line sounds fabulous and picking up extra, while on sale and gaining Balance Rewards bonus points to boot? That sounds like a triple win to me! We always look for natural and eco-friendly products when we shop but I’ve not seen the Ology line yet. We’ll be looking for it at Walgreens with fingers crossed it is available there, too! Thanks so much for sharing your finds 🙂

It is great to be able to spend the time shopping for the real bargains we use and like. I am a grandmother and love to give my son and daughter in law the time to do this when they want. It is a win-win situation for all of us.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice. Let’s keep our kids enjoying the wonderful things our state has to offer. Link in bio #NotJustMenthol #TobaccoFreeNYS #ad @tobaccofreenys
