The Big Toy Book Baby Palooza #BTBBabyPalooza

The event took place at the Delta showroom so I saw lots of new Delta cribs, bassinets, child furniture and strollers. The company’s main message is safety, but the styles were trendy and attractive.  My kids would love the Disney character-themed child furniture.  Delta has all their favorite characters on sturdy chairs, couches, and other furniture.

VTech was in attendance to introduce their new tablet, Innotab 2 Baby, designed for babies 12 months to kids 9 years old.  SEE MY REVIEW HERE.

Another great brand at the event was Cloud B.  Most moms know about their Twilight Turtle, which has been improved by adding sound to the constellation light show.  Cloud B showed us some of their other new products, including Twilight Turtle Tunes (which can play your own iTunes songs), Twilight Carz-Red Lightning for race car enthusiasts, and Twinkles To Go Octo, a smaller night-light for on-the-go.   My favorite new Cloud B product is the Sleep Sheep-Smart Sensor which restarts its soothing soft sounds of nature or heartbeat when the baby wakes up in the middle of the night.

At the BTB Baby Palooza, I checked out a new carseat by First Years called IAlert Convertible Carseat.  I’ve never seen anything like it.  It alerts your cell phone if it detects that your child is riding in a rear facing position not installed at the desired angle, becomes unbuckled while the vehicle is in motion, is left in the car seat when the vehicle is not in motion, or is at risk due to elevated or freezing ambient temperature in the car seat.  It sounded perfect for a neurotic first-time parent like I was.

Madame Alexander dolls were on display at the event as well.  The focus here wasn’t on the collectible dolls most people choose to display and not touch, but on their newest line of washable well-known character dolls, like Fancy Nancy, Angelina Ballerina, and The Wizard of Oz characters.  The Alexander Doll company also sells a line of life-like Newborn Nursery dolls at FAO Shwartz.  They look and feel like real babies and can be “adopted” from the Newborn Nursery at FAO.  How great is that for little girls who want a “real” baby to take care of?

I also enjoyed playing with the newest building sets from MegaBloks.  The First Builders sets are inviting for kids drawn to either a masculine or feminine look, as the sets come in both primary colors and shades of pink and include either boy or girl character pieces.  On display was the adorable Lil Princesses collection which includes a 3 story Enchanted Castle!
