Healthy Sandwich Options with Flatout Hungry Girl Flatbread #FlatoutHot

Healthy sandwich options are something that I look for as  I continue to lose weight.  And I crave something that tastes yummy and full of flavor.  It also has to be something that is not the same.  When  I saw that Flatout paired together with Hungry Girl, I knew this was a perfect fit fo me.  Flatout has always has great taste and a high fiber content.

And, I am so glad that Walgreens carries it now because as a mom on the go, I am glad that I can find a healthy option in a convenience/drugstore.

I am not a chef.  I have been complimented when I follow a recipe so off to the Flatout website to find some options for me.
A Foldit Flatbread Sandwich
After gathering ideas, I decided to be ecclectic and blend some ideas together.  Voila!
The  Flatbread Turkey, Bacon and Avocado Sandwich was full of flavor and not on calories.
Here is what I used:

Flatout Flatbread Whole Grain with Flax

2 slices of BoarsHead Low Sodium Turkey

1 slice 2% milk American cheese

2 strips of turkey bacon

1 Romaine lettuce leaf

4 grape tomatoes
2 slices cucumber 4 thin slices of avocado

Foldit Flatbread Hot Chicken Quesadilla #Flatouthot

For my hot sandwich, I thought a Flatout Chicken Quesadilla sounded delsih.

 Foldit Flatbread Chicken Quesadilla #FlatOutHot

Here is my version of the Chicken Quesadilla

1 Flatout® Whole Grain with Flaxseed Flatbread
1/2 cup pulled roasted chicken
1/4 cup diced mixed peppers
1 Tbs diced red and green onions
1/4 tsp Fajita seasoning
1/4 cup light cheddar and mozzarella 2% cheese, shredded
2 slices cooked lower sodium turkey bacon
1 oz fat free ranch dressing

Once all ingredients were assembled, I put in my Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven for 2 – 3 minutes on each side on medium heat.

Both of the recipes made me full and I didn’t not feel like I was skimping out for the purpose of dieting.  Adding lots of veggies created the volume without lots of extra calories.

There are days where I run from one extracurricular to another after work.  Being able to run to Walgreens to get some staples for a great healthy meal is what I need without the hassle of large supermarket shopping in the middle of the week.

I can’t wait to make again and this time have my girls help make their ow sandwiches!

How are you managing to choose healthy options while on the go?

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post from Walgreens, Flatout, and The Motherhood.  Thoughts expressed are my own.

Your sandwiches look and sound great. I’m guessing the Turkey Sandwich was a bit messy, big hands would be a must. I always overstuff my sandwiches and wraps, mostly with vegetables, to the point where I can’t set it down because it will fall apart when I go to pick it up again.

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice.
