HowAboutWe for Couples Offers #FreeDates and I said Yes! (Sponsored)

When HowAboutWe invited me to have a free date night out with my husband, my first thought was, “What’s a date?”

As a busy mom of three, I cannot tell you when my husband and I have had time alone to actually do something fun or different.  In the past years, we have gone to the movies occasionally or  maybe a local restaurant, but nothing like we did sans children.

Then, if there is time, the conversation goes, “What do you want to do?”

“I don’t know. What do you want to do?”

So after I thought about it and saw what HowAboutWe had to offer and I thought, “Sign Me Up!”

HowAboutWe had many great options to choose from. Broadway tickets, making sushi, local day excursions and jazz concerts.  We picked one that we would both enjoy and would be convenient for both of us.  In Due Course fit the bill.  This option took us to Todd English’s Olives Restaurant.

Our date included the option of Prosecco, Pinot Grigio or a Red. We each were able to enjoy 3 glasses.  Then, we shared four courses that were absolutely delicious.  Our starter was Fried Calamari.  Then, we ventured on to Tortellini of Butternut Squash.  Our main course was Branzino a la Plancha.  Although the food was wonderful, what was even better was the time together without having to make a plan of our own.  To end the evening, we shared a gourmet chocolate pudding. On HowAboutWe, our date would have cost $80.  Our meal, drinks, tip and gratuity were included.  I thought this was well worth it and our time together was priceless.

So, by now, I’m sure you want to know all the details about HowAboutWe:

  • HowAboutWe for Couples is a subscription service designed specifically for couples.
  • Each month, you and your significant other receive a new “DateBook” – filled with pre-planned, one-of-a-kind experiences in your city.
  • HowAboutWe for Couples membership (Cost is $22 per month) gets you: FREE HowAboutWe Dates — every month, Sold-out tickets and members-only events, Early booking on HowAboutWe Dates, Up to 75% off other HowAboutWe Dates, Couples Rewards
  • Membership requires no commitment and you can pause or cancel at any time. Dates on HowAboutWe for Couples can also be purchased as a non-Member, without the Member discount and other benefits.
  • HowAboutWe knows how busy couples are. That’s why most dates are flexible and can be scheduled whenever you decide. Some are one-time-only scheduled events, like performances or special excursions.

There are times when people ask me after I have reviewed something, Is it worth it?  And for HowAboutWe, I would have to say, Yes, Yes it is!

I was compensated for this post and treated to an evening out at Olives from HowAboutWe.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

It’s so important to take time for yourself with three children. It seemed like a wonderful night. As a mom “new to two” my husband and I need to plan a night like yours. We didn’t go out much after our first and of course with an infant date night doesn’t exist. I’ll have to drop a few hints to inspire him to wine and dine me like the old days 😉

Now that is a cool idea to avoid the what do you want to do – I don’t know scenarios which are all too common! I’m gonna check it out!

This is such a great idea! My husband and I are the same way with “whatcha want to do?” “I don’t know what do you want to do?”.

What a neat idea. Whenever my husband and I have a date night we often sit around trying to figure out what to do too! This sounds like it would be a big help. I’m glad you had such a great time and thanks for recommending this!

So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macy So happy to kick off the holiday season with @macys and Santa! Last night, we took the train into the city to preview #Macys #Santaland I have to say it was quite magical. Although my youngest was 12, Santa was able to connect to her and put us all in the holiday spirit.

I believe. I believe….

My mom also came with us. We started talking and I think it was almost 40 years ago that she took us to visit Santa at Macys. I was so happy to visit Santa with her and my youngest for a three generation experience.

Don’t forget to check out the beautiful window displays as you enjoy all of #NYC during the holidays!

#ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but #ad Mental health isn’t talked about enough, but 1 in 5 adults suffer from mental illness and disorders today.

Let’s reduce the stigma by opening up the conversation in the classroom and at home.
As a teacher and a mom of 3, I know how important it is to be there and be a good listener.

Conversations are super important. It’s never too early (or too late) to have these conversations with your students or your own children.

Operation Conversation is a check-in on kids’ mental health. When we start simple habits of conversations, we can learn about concerns or problems our students are dealing with, help them problem solve, and build their confidence for life’s difficult moments.

Teachers can help to destigmatize mental health starting in their own classrooms by talking to their students about mental health using a free deck of conversation starter cards. Parents can also use these cards to support good conversations while at home. I know as a mom, I can use all the help I can get.

#Giveaway Alert!
I have 5 decks of Conversation Starter Decks of cards to give away to 5 lucky winners to help you get the conversation flowing!

New York state has so many wonderful places to be New York state has so many wonderful places to be a part of . From the bright lights of NYC, to quiet places of respite in its parks and wooded areas. Time to walk, hike and reflect. Being active and busy is something that I hope my teens learn from and something we can do together to enjoy all the beauty and nature it has to offer while keeping NY tobacco free. Did you know that our oldest generation of smokers are now dying? After them, you have me and a very large group of people who do not smoke at all. So, who’s next? Instead of taking cigarettes off the shelves, the tobacco industry views today’s teens as tomorrow’s customers, using menthol-flavored products to attract and addict kids – and it’s working. More than half (54%) of youth who smoke (ages 12-17 years) use menthol cigarettes. making it easier for kids to start and harder for them to quit. Menthol is not JUST a flavor, it attracts and addicts kids As a teen mom, I am sharing this so we can all take action! Learn more about the impact of Big Tobacco’s manipulative tactics on our communities and how you can take action to help end this injustice.
