My girls loved Oasis Day Camp this summer. They loved it so much that I took advantage of the Returning Camper Early Bird Discount so that they would be ready to go again for the 2013 summer season.
We went to the Oasis Day Camp in Dobbs Ferry, NY. This Westchester location resided at Mercy College overlooking the Hudson River. Our summer schedules had us starting camp at the end of the summer. I was a little apprehensive as to how they would do being the new girls after camp had been going on for weeks. No worrying needed here! Pick up on the first day was happy smiles and non-stop talking in the car about the friends they had made and how much fun they had.
The girls enjoyed the daily activities – swimming on site, sports, drama and a Talent Show. It was important to me to go to a camp that offered swimming lessons too. They participate in the American Red Cross swim program. By the end of the time, it was obvious to me that the girls were building their confidence in the water and they were becoming stronger swimmers.
In addition to the activities, trips and fun events like International Day, Oasis Day Camp also had caring counselors who took the time to learn all about my children. They felt comfortable, safe and were eager to get up early each day to get to camp on time. I am happy that they were role models for my girls.
When our time at camp was coming to an end, the girls wanted to keep the fun going so I signed them up for the Extension Week. Each day, they went swimming and took a field trip to places such as Cranberry Lake, American Museum of Natural History and fishing in Central Park. As an educator, I know how important it is to expose your child to many different types of experiences and Oasis did just that.
So, Oasis Day Camp gets a two thumbs up in our book. Although we attended the Dobbs Ferry location, there are many Oasis sites in the Tri-State area as well as Massachusettes. Long Island, Central Park, Brooklyn, Queens and NJ are some of the locations that you can choose.
Oasis is all about the children and I cannot wait to send my children back for the 2013 Camp Season!

I received a discounted pricing for the two weeks that my girls attended camp. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Sounds like a great camp setting. I wish the camp I went to as a kid offered swimming lessons. Instead they just did a skills test to see if you could go out to the deeper area of the lake or not…. but didn’t do anything to help people build up their skills.
Looks like such a fun camp!
You can tell by the look on your children’s faces they absolutely loved it! Love that they were so great with your kids and had so many cool things to do!!
That sounds like a great camp! I wish we had something like that around here!
When I was growing up, my day camp did not have swimming onsite, and we had to ride in a van, to the local pool. I love how your daughter is all smiles, and looks like she is having a blast! Thank you for sharing!
How fun! I never went to day camp growing up (well, I went to theater camp, but that is different) so I didn’t realize they did all those activities. It looks like they did just as much as a sleep away camp. Your girls look like they are having a blast!
Sounds like such a great camp! I’m so glad they like it!
I love all my memories of day camp when I was young. Sounds like your girls made some very happy memories of their own this summer! So neat that they incorporated all those field trips, too!
I loved camp as a kid – such a great way to spend the summer! Looks like a great experience!
Oasis day camp looks amazing! No wonder your family is already thinking about next year. 🙂
I bet they had just loads of fun! I can not wait till mine are old enough to go to day camp too!
Sounds like an amazing camp! I wish mine was still camp age.
