Back to school shopping not only requires items for school, it also requires getting ready for all fall sports. And, as luck would have it, my oldest’s cleats did not fit. And after a full year of wear, they did not smell pretty.
We headed down to Columbus Square and was happy to see that there was a great strip of stores located right next to the new Rookie USA. A great area to spend the afternoon shopping!
Rookie USA had it grand opening a few weeks ago and the store had that shiny new look. As we entered, a hologram of Knicks star Carmelo Anthony spoke to us. The girls immediately ran over to the Nike and Converse display of bright colored activewear. Lots of new items.
When we headed to the back, we were greeted by one of the associates and she helped measure the girls for shoes. My oldest needed a new pair of cleats for soccer and luckily they had one style of Nike in her size. Phew! Cleats were what we needed but she was checking out all the different styles of Converse.
My middle daughter was immediately drawn to the Chuck Taylor X-hi sneaker boots. I have to say even I liked them and thought they were a fun pair of shoes.
With the smile on her face, I knew this was what we were getting.
Everyone was friendly and the girls and all the children in the store were treated to a balloon. They had a huge selection of Nike, Converse and Levi’s. One of the associates told us that clothes and backpacks were 20% off the weekend we went but they did not have signs letting us know. I was happy to have received a $20 gift card through email so that I could use it in the store. They just scanned the code right off my phone.
