Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you.
Did you know that September 16th is America’s most celebrated Birthday?
With over 1 million people celebrating their special day Cheryl’s wanted to celebrate with a Buttercream Birthday Bonanza at The Institute of Culinary Education. I have had their cookies on numerous occasions and I could not say no to this event. Who doesn’t want like to celebrate a birthday with great cookies and buttercream frosting?
This event featured students from ICE in the ultimate showdown using their creativity to display unique uses of Cheryl’s new line of buttercream frosting. On hand was renowned ICE instructor and pastry chef Michelle Tampakis who was also in competition against the students.
Cheryl’s Chief Buttercream Officer and mastermind behind the dessert line Elisabeth Allwein was on hand to give some insight of the company and Cheryl’s new line of Buttercream Frosting Tubs. They come in 6 flavors Cinnamon, Peppermint, Mint, Vanilla, Fudge and Caramel.
They are available in 1lb tubs allowing you to decorate up to 20-24 cookies. Cheryl’s frosting tubs can also be frozen to use for future use: that is if you have any left.
Each student used the tubs to incorporate great designs for their masterpieces. One trick that a student used what to add food coloring to the vanilla frosting to enable them to have the perfect color to match their décor of the cake without scarifying flavor. While the students were being judged on creativity and use of the buttercream we were able to sample many of the treats that Cheryl’s has to offer.
My favorite is the vanilla but coming in at a close 2nd is the mint. Most importantly, Cheryl’s cookies are baked with real ingredients and nothing is being compromised for the taste, real butter, cinnamon and all you can imagine in this great tasting cookie. Cheryl’s mission is to provide the finest fresh-baked gifts and desserts for all of life’s moments, delivered with warmth and backed by our guarantee of excellence. I also learned from Elisabeth that they have taste testers all over the country who inspect the cookies based on arrival to ensure that each cookie arrives intact and still fresh as the day it left the cookie factory. I would love that job.
A new item being adding to Cheryl’s list of fabulous tasting treats are Decorating kits that you can decorate with family or friends and just in time for the holidays. These kits are great for Halloween decorating, they come boxed with 24 cookies is the shape of pumpkins and ghost cut out chocolate and vanilla tubs of Buttercream frosting as well as Halloween sprinkles. The other decorating kit features Gingerbread cut outs and offer the same frosting and sprinkles. If they are offering these kits for Halloween I can only imagine what they will have up their sleeves for Christmas and other holidays throughout the year!
