Summer is almost here! Are you ready? My oldest two are ready to go to Oasis Day Camp in Dobbs Ferry this summer.
Oasis Day Camp uses the Mercy College campus throughout the summer. This helps to keep camp affordable . It is accredited by the American Camp Association and has won the New York State Department of Education’s Promising Practices Award for children’s programming.
I spoke to president and CEO of Oasis Children’s services, Bernie Tessler. He takes great pride in “caring about children.” The staff consists of qualified counselors, many are either college students or certified teachers.
One feature that is very important to me is the American Red Cross swimming program. In addition to recreational swim, every camper will also have an instructional swim time.
There are times for athletics, science and drama so that campers have the chance to individualize their programs. Campers work on strengthening leadership skills and creativity.
Dobbs Ferry camps operates from June 25 – August 17, 2012. Campers are between the ages 4 – 12.
Campers have the option of bringing lunch or for an additional fee, you can participate in the hot lunch program.
In addition to its Westchester location, there are Oasis Day Camps located in NYC, Queens, Long Island, and NJ.
Stay tuned for posts this summer about our Oasis Day Camp experience.
I will receive two weeks of Oasis Day camp this summer.
Some of my fondest childhood memories are from the times I was lucky enough to attend Day camps The .Dobbs Ferry program looks like it’ll be great fun & will result in many happy campers 🙂
They are really excited to go!
