Bird and Johnson had a legendary rivalry turned friendship. Now, Magic/Bird has come to Broadway and this is a show you do not want to miss.
Before I continue, I must say that I’m a fan of sports especially now that my daughters actively play basketball, lacrosse, soccer and softball. However, I have never followed sports. I have been to a few games through the years but never considered myself a sports fan.
With that being said, I thought that this show is a must see. The story of their friendship along with the theme of dedication is one that should be shared with all. Success takes time and hard work and this broadway production tells this inspiring story.
I saw the show as part of a collaboration with The Moms, Kids Footlocker and the Max Cure Foundation. For every pair of gently used sneakers donated, Kids Foot Locker makes a $1.00 donation to the Max Cure Foundation.
After seeing the show and wanting to learn more about Johnson and Bird, I stayed for the talkback with producer Fran Kirmser. Meeting the cast and learning about how the show came to be was truly a remarkable expereince.
For information about the show, check out the Magic/Bird Website.
I was compensated for this post. I did receive tickets to see the show.
