The Lorax is In Theaters Now #Giveaway

The Lorax opens tomorrow, March 2.  I would suggest reading the book first.  Of course, I would. The teacher in me loves when you can compare the similarities and differences in books and movies.

A few weeks ago, my two oldest savvies and I went to see a preview of The Lorax in NYC. I Grew up with The Lorax as one of my favorite books.  I am happy that this movie comes at a time, when my children are old enough to read the book and enjoy the movie and learn some valuable lessons.  They really enjoyed it and I think they learned a lot too.  We all enjoyed the singing humming fish.

When we left the the theater, my five year old said “Mom, this movie shows that we need trees to survive and be better”  I think she got it.

I keep thinking of the word UNLESS.  Unless we make a change, unless we think about making better environmental choices, what will happen?

From the creators of Despicable Me and the imagination of Dr. Seuss comes the 3D-CG feature Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, an adaptation of the classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a 12-year-old as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world.

  12. I learned about the book Lorax and its true meaning when I worked at en Engineering firm in their environmental department. One of the environmentalists had the book on their desk, I read it and fell in love with the meaning. I’ve since purchased the book and have been sharing it with my little one. We’d love to see the movie

  49. This was one of my favorite books as a child and always upset me when they cut down all the trees. It had such an impact on me that I ended up entering the environmental field for a living!
