I’m embarassed to say being from New York, but I have never been to Coney Island. My mother goes all the time and Looking at your post I realize it’s something we should really do.
It was such a grand place in the twenties! Hubby and I enjoyed our cycle there from Brooklyn Heights last summer and had the customary hot dog from Nathan’s. We clapped and watched spontaneous Salsa dancers on the Board Walk swinging their hips below blue skies, while children frolicked in the waves as far as the eye could see. I never imagined how long the beach was! The area is changing for the better and I look forward to our visit next summer. Every New Yorker should take the subway and experience Coney Island!
We went to the beach yesterday too! It’s so serene and beautiful!
How long does it take to get there from NYC?
It took me about 45 minutes – mostly because of traffic.
It was our first visit too. It was worth the trip.
Chilly yet nice that it’s not crowded. Nice photos!
Beautiful! I adore the beach…even on a cold day 🙂
what fun! we go every year on labor day – it’s a little crowded, but a nice way to end the summer.
