Splashdown Beach Water Park is only a beautiful 90 minute ride from NYC to Fishkill.
Looking for a day trip before the summer ends? There is still great summer days to enjoy this family oriented waterpark.
While driving up, I thought to myself, no bridge and no tolls= less traffic and less stress.
This year, Splashdown Beach opened Bob the Builder Splashworks which is waterpark fun for event the littlest ones. We spent a lot of time with Baby Savvy in Splashworks letting her explore all the different areas.
Here is what Splashdown shared about Splashworks:
Splash Works, a 1,600 square foot Bob the Builder themed spray & play area, is geared towards children ages 1-5, and contains more than 50 interactive features. Splash Works will include Bob’s tool shed play structure, two slides, tipping buckets, tot bounces, dancing water, geysers and many other surprises. In addition, Bob the Builder meet & greets will be available daily at the park.
“Over the past five years we have focused our attractions on the teen and adult market. This year, we want to ensure that something fresh and exciting is provided for our younger visitors,” said Steve Turk, owner of SplashDown Beach. “It has been a great experience working with HIT Entertainment; they are professional and passionate about their brand.”
Focusing on this age group is definitely a unique feature. We have been to a different waterparks and this was the most family friendly with attractions for all age groups.

One of the things that I liked best about the park was that it felt more like a beach club. I didn’t have that sense of rushing from ride to ride as you do at an amusement park/waterpark. The girls were able to enjoy and take their time in each area. Lines moved quickly and lots of fun was had.
Our next area to visit was Shipwreck Lagoon. The girls spent lots of time going up and down the child friendly slides. Baby Savvy was even able to go on some of them independently. As we explored this area, Oldest Savvy noticed her most favorite place, Cowabunga Falls.
She went on by herself at first, but then Middle Savvy and I braved the slides and we were glad we did. We had so much fun that we went another 3 times. Small lines equals more fun!
We ended the day relaxing on “the beach” near the Monster Wave Pool. I had such an enjoyable day with the girls. They are very eager to go back!

We loved going to Splashdown Beach. It was fun, super clean, friendly and had rides appropriate for all! We are going to go one more time before the close of the summer. 😉

Splashdown looks like a fun place for kids and adults alike! I’ve never heard of it but now that I have I’m definitely going to take my family there this summer. We usually frequent the Great Wolf Lodge and my kids love it so i know they’d love to go here!
