How do you and your kids prepare for the start of the school year?
We have been preparing since July for the beginning of school. Once school supply lists were in our hand, we took advantage of early bird savings on supplies such as crayons, glue sticks and markers.

Early September 2010
This wasn’t a daily task. We were out and about enjoying pools, amusement parks, and relaxing in the backyard. Especially local parks!
We also spent some time shopping for some new clothes and shoes. All three savvies get their feet measured so we are ready for school with new shoes and sneakers. Finding great deals on name brand favorites allows me to get fun new items for each of the girls. Now that the girls are getting older, they each enjoy trying on clothes. This means lots of time in stores, but also great rainy day fun for little fashionistas.
Next, a very important task is to pick out new lunchboxes and backpacks. Last year’s backpack was used all throughout camp and by the looks of it, it was time for a new one.
With new outfits on and backpacks filled with supplies, we are ready to go! I put some pics from last year. I am already excited for the pictures for this year.
Are you ready for back to school? Do you have all that you need?

Look your best on the first day

Tiny Prints has back to school shopping necessities such as labels, teacher stationary, and more. Check them out!
This is a sponsored post from Tiny Prints. I will receive a gift card to Tiny Prints for my post.
you’re so organized, reading this i feel like such a slacker. haven’t done anything yet except let the kids pick out some new clothes they have insisted on wearing already even though i keep saying “those are for school! wear your summer clothes!”
Yep, I’m in the slacker boat too 😀 I thought that I was super prepared, but not after I hear you’ve been prepping since July! We do have all the supplies from the list and a couple new outfits, but we still need shoes, other than gym shoes, and some more clothes. We aren’t too behind since we don’t start until after labor day.
We always had our school supplies before the summer ended. We always took a family vacation late in August so before we left, all that we needed would be separated into three heaps, one for each of us. Before school, we model the outfits we wanted for the first day and then loaded are backpacks. We also got the paper bags ready to cover our hard covers!
Now that Big B is heading to school for the first time, I wonder what traditions we’ll start for him. It’s for me to be on the other side of the “bus”.
You’re so organized! Since my 2 year old is going to nursery school for the first time, I got her a Ni Hao Kai Lan backpack that is a toddler’s size. She loves it because of the character on it. She wears it around the house, too. 🙂
Aw! Cute outfit choice! Good luck Savvy Lady!
We also get early bird savings on school supplies and have been trying to get them into a routine with waking up earlier and getting them on more of a schedule.

This is so sweet! I love the pictures from last year – can’t wait to see this year’s pictures!! Miss you mama!! 🙂 What conferences are you planning on attending? Could you add me as a friend on FB so I can invite you to a blog group I have??

I left you a message on Facebook. The only conference I have set up already for next year is Blogher 12! Will you be going?
I always seem to wait until the last minute. I need to be more organized especially when I read comments from people like you who run circles about me in the organization department! I love that little blue dress! So cute!
